Wonderful discussion on language, Ireland and the land. Animism in language as connection to the land itself. Ireland maintained this deep connection long after most European countries were losing it yet its origins are still within modern language. This connectiveness in Ireland continued long after it was colonized, and the indigenous people subdued. I guess that can happen if you name your country after a goddess.
