I cannot deny I was raised in a Christian culture. I use Christian swears and know much of the history.
But if God is real, then he's a real metaphor.
A metaphor for the collective goodwill of all humanity.
I like a lot of the Bible, and (like most Christians) interpret it in my own unique way, guided by "god" (aka: my gut). It refers to itself as "The Word" and I like the idea of that: Literacy given life.
It fits, I think. At the time, "Literacy" was a rare thing held by clergy and a few bean-counters under the rulers. It was a magical thing, allowing someone to EXACTLY repeat what was once said before.
Recording. Writing down. Preserving. Passing on what was learned to the next generation.
All worship-worthy aspects to "Written down language."
