"Well, here I am." -- Mercenary Jubal Early, "Firefly"
About twenty-five years ago, I made the decision to follow Christ. At some point far too long after that, I realized I had precious little idea what I'd signed up for. I'm still learning, thankfully, and plan to do so as long as I'm kicking.
Fifteen years ago, I set out to make my faith my own. It's been an "interesting" scenic route, and those of you have seen "Serenity" might remember how Wash defined "interesting." Fact is, this journey's nearly killed me at times, but I'm still here.
Which brings me to, well, why I'm here. As something of an introvert and non-traditional evangelical (which you can feel free to ask me about), I've struggled to fit into a lot of churches. I still meet with the few Christian friends I have, but that's a problem when we're nearly an hour apart and you've got to mortgage your first-born to afford a gallon of gas.
I'd like to meet Christians like myself here, as well as people with different points of view. I prefer to learn rather than duel, unless there's actual swords involved. If I can have a mutually beneficial discussion with someone who holds a view different from my own, I appreciate that, and look forward to it.
As for the rest, I'm afraid I'd write a tome here and still only scratch the surface of who I am. I believe that's true of anyone. Let it suffice to say I'm a 30-something writer currently living in the mountains of Colorado, and dreaming of warmer climes with ocean views. If there's anything else you'd like to know, I'm glad to answer your questions.
