I actually don't mind when people ask me where I'm from, I prefer people ask me what my ethnic background is, then assume what my ethnic background is.
(I realise that others may be uncomfortable with that question)
I honestly don't feel I need to live in a colourblind world, for a lot of people...
Going to be honest right now, I kind of hate it when people say that because I think it erases the experience of mixed people, we still have different experiences then white people when it comes to race.
And then also in some cultures it is your tribe that is your race and marrying into other tribes is a big no no! Even if they are from the same country.
But then again if I was half Jamaican and half Nigerian I wouldn't be seen as a mutt because both are of black African descent. So because you are of white European descent no one will view you as a mutt.
It is how we have come to define race, well mainly a white social definition of race, like if one of your parents are black you are JUST black but sold at a higher price. It is because the brown races are seen as "other."
So what is the difference between black people and white people?
(Guessing from how you worded that sentence, you aren't even black. This should be entertaining.)
Go!
I'm not fleeing from any questions. I explained how I think men and women are different and in what context they are different, which is a socially constructed context.
I'm asking you to do the same, cheers! If you don't get it, that is fine, have a nice day.
Let me break it down for you...Do you think men and women are born mentally different or do you think they are taught to think and act differently?
Take your time...
