These eyes
Cry every night
For you
These arms
Long to hold you
Again
The hurtin's on me, yeah
And I will never be free
No, my baby, no no
You gave the promise to me, yeah
And you broke it
And you broke it, oh no
They call me rag doll (whee ooh)
They put me down (ooh whee ooh)
I couldn't take it any longer
So I got out of town.
I go to parties with playboys
Use them for toys
If my old friends could see (see me now)
They call me (ooh)
Society girl (ahh ahh ahh ahh)
Society girl
But I miss the guy
Who...
Always and forever
Each moment with you, yeah
Is just like a dream to me
That somehow came true, yeah
And I know tomorrow
Will still be the same
'Cause we got a life of love
That won't ever change and
Well hey, hey Mr. Policeman
Bet I can drive faster than you can
Come on Hoss, let's have some fun
Go on shoot me with your radar gun
You look bored and I sure am
Catch me if you can.
Hey, hey Mr. Policeman
I got a '75 Firebird Trans Am
With a 455 up under the hood
Me and my brother got it...
I can see the sun
And I can feel the rain
I can hear the wind call your name
I can feel your love
But there's one thing I can't do
I can't ever get enough of you
Oh, the light in your eyes
Is not shining the way it used to
And I feel our love is dying
After all the years
The laughter and the tears
Baby please, don't tell me that it's over
I can't stand the thought of you
(Going out of my mind)
I can't see me without you
(Here in my mind)
(and overall prompt)
We didn't start the fire
It was always burning, since the world's been turning
We didn't start the fire
No, we didn't light it, but we tried to fight it
Joseph Stalin, Malenkov, Nasser and Prokofiev
Rockefeller, Campanella, Communist Bloc
Roy Cohn, Juan Peron, Toscanini...
Love is where you find it
When you find no love at home
And there's nothin' cold as ashes
After the fire is gone
The bottle is almost empty
The clock just now struck ten
Darlin' I had to call you
To our favorite place again
We know it's wrong for us to meet
But the fire's gone out at home
And...
I had company for dinner and introduced some southern staples to a young Mexican family. American style chicken and rice, fried okra, green beans, baked corn bread, and hush puppies - all winners. Especially the hushed puppies and okra. The only thing that didn't go over well was the pickled beets.
I just started another by Kathleen O'Neal Gear. It's the last unread I have of hers, so I'll need to start surfing the used book sites. This one is a standalone entitled Sands in the Wind.
Don't you ever feel sad
Lean on me when times are bad
When the day comes and you're down
In a river of trouble and about to drown
Just hold on, I'm comin'
Hold on, I'm comin'
(My brain isn't clicking yet. I'll be back.)
