Electric vehicles are still not perfected (degradation of range in cold weather, disposal of batteries, etc.) but they are getting better. At this point, I prefer a fuel efficient petrol powered car.

AFAIK, lentils aren't a rice substitute. At least two of my daily meals contain lentils. The way I cook lentils, they essentially turn into a paste...a base for my rice dish or the thickening agent for my morning porridge.
I don't like the texture or the taste of tofu. My protein comes primarily from lentils and rice (which together create a complete protein), nuts, and cheeses.
