I'm not a Christian, and I was never a believer, but I don't think it would be a useful way to deal with your problem if I'd try to convince you to "see it my way".
I think you need someone to help you order your thoughts.
Let me give an example:
I post #20, you reflect on the beginning of the...
You are wrong. People like drama, that's why they elect actors, comedians and reality show hosts.
Also, there's a chance that an AI would make decisions based on facts. People don't like facts if they collide with their doctrine.
@F1fan, @Copernicus, @Argentbear
Your attempts are useless. Don't you know that facts don't matter to Trumpists? @Twilight Hue won't agree that 2 + 2 = 4 if Trump has said that it's 5.
Threats have worked for the Nazis, and Trump is using more and more of their play book. No wonder people are calling him a fascist (which he still isn't).
"Contrary to numerous myths based on ignorance, the system worked. The U.S. was on a gold-based system for 180 years until the early 1970s. We never had inflation when the dollar’s value was tied to the yellow metal, and the U.S. experienced the greatest long-term economic growth in human...
Fearmongering about immigrants ("the caravan") is a decades old tactic by the GOP, it wasn't invented by Trump. He just dialled it up to eleven. What made me listen is the new language. "Poisoning the blood of our country" is Nazi speak, blood and soil ideology.
While I have argued that Trump is...
Nobody should be forced to vote for a representative to decide things one is capable to decide for themselves. Ballot initiatives are more democratic than voting for representatives.
I think the founding fathers would be flabbergasted by the freedoms you have now that they didn't even contemplate. Abolishment of slavery (with exceptions) and voting rights for women being the most obvious ones.
Yep, I do vote.
I see evolution as the way to anarchism, not revolution. The means have to reflect the goal, you can't have a free society by aggressively taking away freedom.
There are two rational arguments to make for reaching the goal of extended freedom by election.
1. Vote independent...
It's simply the promise that the Fed will give you gold for dollars. Implying they hold enough gold to do that for every dollar in circulation. They don't, and they didn't for a long time. Returning to the gold standard would instantly crash the dollar as well as the value of gold.
Those rumours have some serious backup.
- Nobody has been allowed to inspect Fort Knox or any other vault for decades.
- The US dropped the Gold Standard when France wanted to have their gold back that they stored in the US during WWII. (Implying that the gold wasn't there any more.)
