    Christianity's hidden privilege

The U. S. was founded and built on Christian principles. There are many other countries where people can go if they are made uncomfortable by Christian principles. North Korea sounds like a wonderful place. Maybe try living there.

    Protestants don't know their Bible!

Please see my post # 134. I am not saying all traditions are wrong. But if a tradition says to do something that God says to not do, then we should follow God.

    Protestants don't know their Bible!

Please let me give an honest reply. You list your religion as Judaism. So suppose you go to church one day and your Rabbi says he has carefully thought about it and he can see no reason why people should not eat pork. He has thr authority to make decisions for the congregation so he is going to...

    Protestants don't know their Bible!

Thank you but I do not see what this has to do with traditions.

    Protestants don't know their Bible!

I guess you have a different Bible because mine says do NOT follow the traditions of men. And I am not just talking about traditions. If a man says to do ANYTHING that the Bible says do not do then that man is not following God. If you want to do what he tells you then that is your choice but do...

What was the star of Bethlehem?

The "star" described in the Bible was said to "go before" the wise men and to "stand over" the house were Jesus was. Real stars to not go before men and stand over houses. Even the best navigator today could not find one exact house using a star for guidance. This was not any ordinary star but...

    Protestants don't know their Bible!

I am simply saying that I believe the Bible is the word of God. If a man says to follow some tradition that the Bible says we should not follow, then that man is not following the Bible. If you decide to follow what that man says, that is up to you. I prefer to follow what the Bible says.

    Protestants don't know their Bible!

There are many spirits guiding men and they are not all holy. Satan guides many and leads them away from the word of God. If a man tells me to do something but the Bible says I should not do it, then that man is not being lead by the Holy Spirit but by Satan.

    Protestants don't know their Bible!

Very interesting that everything the Bible says do NOT do, you go out of you way to find an excuse to do it. Any church that says it's rules are more important than God's rules is not a church that God approves of.

    Protestants don't know their Bible!

Mark 7:8 Jesus warns people not to follow traditions of men. Something that started in 1221 is not a commandment of God but is a tradition of men. Bible says to avoid it but of course to you that means not to avoid it.

    Protestants don't know their Bible!

Matthew 6:7 says that people should not use vain repetitions in prayer. So why would someone repeat the same thing 10 or 20 or 30 times? Our Father, Our Father, Our Father, over and over. I actually think God gets tired of hearing this same words over and over just like people get tired of...

    Christians: The Nicene Creed?

Metis, I am sure you are an intelligent person. I may sometimes question what a person believes but I never question their right to believe what they want. I am sure many here would use some colorful words to describe what I believe. I believe God is made up of two persons, not three. There is...

    Christians: The Nicene Creed?

May I ask for more details about what part you do not believe? Do you believe there is one God? Do you believe he made all things? I am honestly curious about what parts of the creed you believe and do not believe.

When does the soul enter the body?

The Bible does not say Adam received a soul, it says Adam became a living soul. The soul is the same as the physical body. Maybe you are talking about the spirit which is a different thing.

The Real Circumcision Questions - At Least in My View

I am certainly not comparing pouring some water on a child with cut part of their body. I am saying why should any religious rite be performed on a child who cannot agree to receiving it. Achild who is cut cannot get his skin back and a child who is baptized cannot get un-baptized. Wait until...

The Real Circumcision Questions - At Least in My View

How about asking another question. Circumcision is usually a religious choice. So what about baptism? This is also a religious choice. Should infant baptism also be outlawed? There is no example in the Bible of infant baptism but there are examples of infant circumcision. If we outlaw one, we...

Speaking in tongues; what is going on?

In this case "tongue" simply means "language", English is a tongue. Spanish and French and German are tongues. Anyone who gets up in church and starts babbling in strange noises is not speaking in tongues. Someone who can translate words into other languages can speak in tongues.

Trinity claims that the Jews believed that a Son is equal to his Father

If a man named John Jones has a son named Joe Jones, they are both Jones. If the Heavenly Father has a son, they are both God. God is not a person but a family.made up of the Father and ther Son.
