Soapy, people can worship any day they want. Or even more than one day a week. My personal opinion is that God made the seventh day holy and no man can change that. The seventh day is holy. Do you have to worship on the seventh day ? I can not answer but that day is still a holy day.
Does it matter? I can't say yes or no. But God worked 6 days and rested on the seventh day. He made the seventh day holy. Only God can make something holy. Man came along and said he was going to worship on the first day. I think you can worship anytime you want to. Maybe several days a week...
Great idea. Let's get back to the OP. The Lord's Day. Isaiah 13:9 says that on the day of the Lord he will destroy sinners. Ezekiel 30:3 says the Lord's day is a time of the heathen. Amos 5 :18 says the day of the Lord is a day of darkness. None of this sounds like it has anything to do with...
Thank you. Yes, this all makes a lot of sense. I just think it would be nice if there was just one verse that came right out and said "I will take you to heaven" or "you are going to heaven" or something like that. And I must ask a personal question. Most people hope to spend eternity in heaven...
Thank you again. And again I see no verse that uses the word heaven and says we go there. And also the worst thing I can imagine is spending 1000 years living on gold streets in heaven and then have to leave. Heaven should be a place where we stay forever.
Thank you again for some interesting ideas. You are probably completely right. But I make one statement that no one has ever been able to prove wrong. The Bible does not say anyone went to or is going to "heaven". Using that exact word "heaven". It may say paradise or Abraham's bosom or God's...
I am sure this is what you believe because it is what you have been taught. But the verses do not say anything about heaven. They say Jesus is coming back to earth and we will be with him (on earth). I am sure you will not change your beliefs because of this. But NOTHING in the Bible uses the...
Just two comments for now. I Thes 4:17 says that we will be caught up in the clouds with Jesus. Clouds are near earth not heaven. Nothing about anyone going to heaven. John 14 says Jesus will come back and receive us. When he comes back he will be on earth, not heaven. Again nothing about...
Thanks Angel. This all sounds great. But no one has given the verse that says anything about people being in heaven. Can you help? Just name the verse that says people will reign in HEAVEN. Really should be pretty easy don't you think?
Soapy, I am starting to like you more. I also think the earth, either all or part of creation. will be populated by people who have gained eternal life. I see nothing about any of them "going to heaven" which is what most people hope to do. They would be better off trying to get to the glorious...
Thank you for the clarification. I see nothing about taking anyone anywhere. That is why I was asking for a verse. The only verse I see says Jesus will return to earth and gather people to him so that they can be with him wherer he is. When he returns to earth he will be on earth not in heaven...
Of course all days belong to the Lord but the Loed's day does not reder to either Saturday or Sunday. It is the day in the future when Christ will return and put all nations under his rule.
If the house next to you was occupied by a father and his son, you would say there were two people living there, but ONE FAMILY. God is One God but a father and a son. What is the difference? One family of two people, one God of two members.
Tongues are languages. If a person speaks French and Spanish ans Italian, you can can he speaks three tongues. Babbling meaningless sounds is not tongues. In the Bible people spoke tongues so the people listening would understand. Not meaningless sounds. Languages.
