Can we change our mind about what we believe?

‘Tell us,’ they said, ‘when will this happen? And what will be the signal for your coming and the end of the age?’ –Matthew 24:3 The above prophecy is asking Jesus when will be His return and when will be the end of the age. And Jesus answers them below… When ye therefore shall see the...

    The purposeful vagueness of scriptures.

Absolutely not. You are dead wrong and exposing that you have no knowledge at all of the holy books. If you did you could never ever come to that conclusion. I know the holy books and the context and murder and killing are clearly forbidden. Self defense is permitted only if attacked first.

Can we change our mind about what we believe?

It should be noted that Daniel predicted both the Declaration of the Bab - 1844 as well as the Declaration of Baha’u’llah 1863. Note that the Master indicates that, in this instance, time is measured by the "lunar" calendar. Since the proclamation of the mission of Muhammad took place ten years...

Can we change our mind about what we believe?

We are saying that the old religions have been fulfilled with the coming of Baha’u’llah. The validity of Christ is proven to me a thousand fold now I have discovered He has returned. So I believe more in Christ now as a Baha’i than I did when I was a Christian. And the message of Christ has...

    The purposeful vagueness of scriptures.

All the major religions holy books teach not to kill or harm so those who do so it is their choice. God appeals to our higher nature to act nobly but doesn’t force us to do so. It Is us who choose how we behave good or bad. It is better we choose peace but we are choosing to solve our problems...

    Random Scripture Thread

Thank you for this wonderful thread where we can inspire and uplift one another. For some reason my keyboard got stuck on bold so I had to delete the post and refresh the page. Sorry for any inconvenience caused. The Blank Piece of Paper There was once an old man who lived in Persia. He had...

Can we change our mind about what we believe?

With regards to the interpretation of Biblical prophecies it is written very clearly that…. Daniel 12:9 And he said, Go thy way, Daniel: for the words are closed up and sealed till the time of the end. And in Revelation 5:3-5 3 And no man in heaven, nor in earth, neither under the earth, was...

Can we change our mind about what we believe?

My point is about Christian interpretation. Daniel does not specify whether he is speaking about the first or second coming. Christians believe it refers to Christ period but interpret clouds and heaven differently for the first and second coming. Those who believe it speaks of both, interpret...

Can we change our mind about what we believe?

It’s not a matter of who is right or wrong. Christians are right to believe in Christ. But many, not all Christians, including Christian clergy have accepted Baha’u’llah as the return of Christ in the glory of the Father so just because the majority have not yet accepted Him does not mean they...

Can we change our mind about what we believe?

As you probably know we cannot know God directly. So what is meant by ‘knowing God’ is meant His Manifestations Who are God’s Representatives on earth. So to know, believe and obey the Manifestations is to know and worship God. Some Manifestations are Christ, Muhammad, Moses and Baha’u’llah so...

    End Times?

A lot of the interpretations of the end of the world I believe are superstitious and nonsensical and wholly unacceptable rationally and reasonably. What the holy books I believe are depicting is the maturing of humanity coming to the stage of discarding old ideas and traditions which no longer...

Can we change our mind about what we believe?

Everyday, multiple times I reflect with awe and wonder why I have been so lucky to have recognised Baha’u’llah, what have I done to deserve such a precious gift. I never can fathom it and likely never will except to say every second I’m overwhelmingly so, so grateful to God for opening my...

Can we change our mind about what we believe?

That’s the way it should be. I never accepted it all until I was perfectly satisfied and that took many years. So people should not accept anything unless they agree with it especially Baha’u’llah and the Baha’i Faith. Criticise it, question it and if not happy then reject it. That’s what I did...

    The purposeful vagueness of scriptures.

It works differently with us. We believe in the independent investigation of truth so it’s up to people to do their own research and investigation and base their decisions on that. Only you can decide if something is true or not for you. No matter what anyone told me i followed my own...

Is Christianity the religion of idolatry?

Wasn’t it the Jewish high priests who rejected Christ claiming He was not the Messiah according to their interpretation of the Torah? I spent 5 years in Burma a Buddhist country. The monks give regular sermons. Yes we read and understand but then we either accept or reject. But those of whatever...

    The purposeful vagueness of scriptures.

That makes a lot of sense. If we all set out on a search for truth and found it then we should have all arrived at the same place?

If science can help keep premature babies alive until they mature then that is great. The soul will be there no problem. Under the circumstances we are saving a child’s life.

That’s ok. Then when you think you have some sort of measurement let me know and i can see if i have anything that meets your expectations.

Is Christianity the religion of idolatry?

The situation is that all the major religions have living priests who regularly interpret their scriptures at weekly sermons. Baha’is do not have living interpreters or a priesthood that can interpret for us and we are forbidden from the leadership down to interpret. Hope this clarifies it?
