    In Ex 6, YHWH is saying that He appeared to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob but did not tell them that His name was YHWH, rather He said that He was God Almighty. That is how I understand it. I don't think YHWH was impersonating the Canaanit High God El.

    The image of God here seems to mean that we were made to rule over the earth and not to be a servant to the earth and the animals etc. I think that "male amd female" means that both the males and the females are human, made in the image of God. The female is not a lesser creation.
