Tara Reade who accuses Biden of sexual assault now fears for her life.

Considering Trump’s comments regarding him allegedly walking into the changing rooms of I think Miss Teen USA, Biden’s still looks better. Not American so I couldn’t care less about either of the jerks. I’m just saying. Trump has the much longer running awful-er general reputation (I honestly...

    Can we compromise on abortion?

@crossfire I think this might be the story, but honestly I don’t know There’s admittedly a few in circulation at the present https://amp.cnn.com/cnn/2023/04/26/health/abortion-hearing-texas-senators-amanda-zurawski/index.html I also found this one from last year, which was hard to read...

    Can we compromise on abortion?

I swear I just saw a news report from the US (I’ll try my best to find it to link it) where a woman was denied a late term abortion even though all the doctors involved recommended it for her health and deemed it medically necessary. I think it cost her the baby since it was no longer viable...

    Best way to get drunk?

Guys tell me your favourite drinks!!! Your favourite Whiskey, vodka, bourbon, rum, beer or tequila Best brand. Best mixer. Best recipe even. And make your case. I’m curious. I’m a rum and bourbon girl. But I mix it with Pepsi or even Dr Pepper if I’m desperate. Coke makes me too sick lol Prefer...

    Sir, this is a Wendy’s

Interesting. I guess I assume all fast food is “not fresh.” Lol Unless that is one of their main selling points of course But I don’t know what the legal US standards are. It’s reputed to be slightly worse than many countries but that could just be a stereotype

    Sir, this is a Wendy’s

My American friends!!! I’m curious as to your thoughts about this famous US based chain? Your fave go to dishes? What their competitors do better? Who do they outperform? What you wish to see return to their menu maybe? See the company to looking to open (again?) a few hundred stores across...

EV Movement, Plastic Bag Bans, etc. - Is Motive Really Environment or Control? (solar, recycling)

Completely anecdotal but my Mum has a hybrid electric and fuel vehicle. Not only does she get much more mileage from her tank, but she doesn’t spend nearly as much on fuel as she used to. Even compared to me and my car is fairly fuel efficient all things considered. The way I see it, electric...

The de-transition movement has reached Germany

Perhaps. I won’t pretend to have inside knowledge of such a phenomenon. The closest I come is that I like paling around with non binary folks. I suppose like most things in this world the moment politics enter the equation all hell breaks lose lol This may be something of an “over correcting”...

The de-transition movement has reached Germany

The international news paints a slightly different picture. Referencing all manner of laws targeting such treatment. But that could just be the world being puzzled at how the US regulates their medicine, so  But I can agree that we shouldn’t be demonising anyone who detransitions. Such...

The de-transition movement has reached Germany

I didn’t mean to suggest that I felt “eh” about folks detransitioning. Obviously such folks deserve nothing but empathy Merely that medicine in general isn’t always foolproof. That’s unfortunate to be sure. But it’s a reality nonetheless. Obviously we should try our best to minimise this fact...

The de-transition movement has reached Germany

@Saint Frankenstein for some reason it’s not letting me quote you. But anyway I don’t know how it works in the US, honestly. I keep finding different answers when I search for it. I assume that’s due to different states having differing laws? But I don’t know. I think here psychiatrists can...

The de-transition movement has reached Germany

Because doctors usually encourage treatment as a whole? Doctors encourage folks who express feelings of gender dysphoria to transition because that’s a common medically accepted treatment. Similar to recommending an aspirin for pain. It just is. Doesn’t always work but eh But people are...

The de-transition movement has reached Germany

I don’t think they are encouraged. Such an accusation usually comes from sources who are specifically against the trans community. At least from what I can gather. Indeed it is similar to accusations made in the past regarding (including but not limited to) being gay, being bi, being into...

Adventures of Tintin : Herge Methuen

Uhh yeah. Most books from the past have depictions that are now considered racist or sexist or what have you. That’s just how art often works. What was considered okay in one era might not be in another. So?

Yes. Australia has universal healthcare. Called Medicare here. All controlled by and overseen by the government.

The de-transition movement has reached Germany

That might differ country to country. I think in my country its not unheard of for a psychiatrist to be able to dip into such prescriptions. But I don’t know if that’s due to differing official standards to Italy so
