I think that the core of Christianity can be summarised:
Those who follow the example of Christ by approaching another with attentiveness, selflessness and humility, contribute less to worldly sorrow and more to outer harmony and inner sense of peace. Doing this, is the ‘only’ way back to [the...
I myself often see parallels in things -not those John sees, but still- and I view Christianity’s “only way” slightly different to you too, but you write very well @dybmh; inspiring and contemplative.
Thank you.

I think that @Oeste phrased it rather well myself, but if it’s still puzzling, sometimes it’s easier to think of the Trinity as the sum of three different perspectives on being.
Father: perspective in theory; possession of “what” is [law/code/word].
Holy Spirit: perspective in principle...
But how you understand things today, is based on the choices that you did make. Had you made other choices, you’d understand other things, plus see the same things differently to how you do today.
Our perspectives (on one and the same experience, too) are unique because we each walk life...
Yes, so says the bible.
Jesus was a Jew who wanted to remind his people of their faith, so that they not continue to lose it to worldly pursuits.
Some Jews received this well; most Jews did not*.
Yet, then as now, the words of Jesus offered comfort and inspiration to anyone who did not want...
They lack humility, are impatient with and “pity” those who do not understand or who misunderstand them.
In short: they speak and act from ego and “strike back” in different ways, instead of “turning the other cheek” in full faith in the divine wisdom that they possess.
That said, the “return...
Some things in life are pretty black-and- white, in my view.
If it is right to put someone else in prison for what he’s been charged with, then absolutely! In a democracy, laws shall apply equally to all citizens.
If he is not put in prison, nor should anyone else charged for such offences.
Spiritual “enlightenment” (not a fan of the term, myself) depicts a shift in perspective, from self to selfless (free from self)*; leading to a different way of interacting and a new state of being in general.
*) A self-perspective holds a specific position in relation to time and place, to...
All that is, is 'one’.
And this 'one’ is “necessary” in the sense that without it, there would be nothing and this thread would not be taking place.

Okay. That makes sense, yes.
I don’t know your age; do you work or are you in school?
Collectively excluding a peer deliberately is a form of bullying. Would you say that you experience this, perhaps? Or is it something different?

I’m confused… you want to “force people to do things” because they give your life meaning?
Even if you exchanged the word “force” for “persuade/manipulate”, that sentence does not make sense. What am I missing?

Well, I don’t think you’ll get them to “care” about you through violence.
One can influence others, sure.
Not through violence (that is called force), but through persuasion… manipulation… propaganda.
The responsible question that you ought to be asking yourself is: why do you feel that you...
