I have answered all of your questions (but will repeat it):
1. "What exactly is the "eternal element" you refer to":
“The True Self is the Tathāgata-dhātu [Buddha-nature]. You should know that all beings do have it, but it is not apparent, since those beings are enveloped by immeasurable...
@Spiny Norman : So you cant answer the question Spiny?
If nirvana is eternal... how can it be achieved by a temporary state of mind... the very same mind that is impermanent and will ceases to exist? How can it be the eternal nirvana? (this question is for all buddhists who think everything is...
Now answer me this Spiny:
Explain how a state of a temporary mind can be the eternal unborn. How would it survive when the mind ceases to exist? How can it be the eternal nirvana.
Its not "if", cant you read? It says buddha-nature is eternal!
And to answer your question...
To the eternal aspect, nothing happens.
To the non-eternal aspect...it dies.
Yes, it sounds like the hindu view, or perhaps better expressed, it sounds like truth. If truth is one - realization is one.
From Nirvana sutra:
"[The perfected Bodhisattva] is endowed with perfect Knowing [jnana]. Knowing is perceiving Eternity, Bliss, the Self, and Purity in the Tathagata and...
Your answer is self defeating. Unborn means eternal. The unborn existed before the phenomena came and passed. The unborn existed before the temporary "state of mind" you refer to as liberation (lol).
Your whole world of ideas are just within the realm of fantasies.
We can see what the Nirvana sutra says:
From Nirvana sutra:
"[The perfected Bodhisattva] is endowed with perfect Knowing [jnana]. Knowing is perceiving Eternity, Bliss, the Self, and Purity in the Tathagata and that all beings are endowed with the Buddha-dhatu. He sees the two attributes /...
This is the easiest way for me:
dvaita (duality): brahman and atman - different substance & separate
visista-advaita (qualified-non-duality): brahman and atman - same substance & separate
advaita (non-duality): brahman and atman - same substance & non-separate
Something which doesnt make sense to me is this: If individual souls are eternal, they must have entered samsara at a certain point and will get liberation at a certain point. So we have a beginning and an end (of samsara in time).
Now the questions arise...
If there was an enternity before...
You dont want to read what I wrote... but have made up your mind I insulted you.
You dont want to read what I wrote... but ask for clarification.
You dont want to read what I wrote... but you say Ekanta dont wont to understand
You dont want to read what I wrote... but say Ekanta just attack...
Who said I disrespected hindu culture? ITS YOUR IMAGINATION which seems limitless.
Again your imagination runs wild. Who said I didnt read sutras and vedas? ITS YOUR IMAGINATION. Who said I wanted to debate? You accuse me of not having hindu views, yet I quoted several well known hindus with...
Seriously, I said repeatedly, I quoted not only Baba, but several others. Dont you get it? Its not only him.
Why should I care more about "the people living today"? What makes them right? Perhaps you are a relativist who think that just because people are alive they are right? If that is so...
I have a hard time taking his view as the "hindu belief" when he is an atheist. Should I follow him as a guru instead of the well known sages? Hillarious to say the least!
Or perhaps I should think for myself? Perhaps I should make up a fantasy of my own and follow it? There is a reason śraddhā...
I am? I quoted several hindu sages... they did!
Again, the above sages also testify to that the one God is surely universal.
Edited: One thing I dont get is this. If you are a hindu and all the great hindu sages say the same thing, why do you ignore them? From where do you get your version?
To quote Sivananda again: "Angel ...corresponds to the Deva of the Hindus" :)
IMO, if the same God has revealed and inspired both hinduism and christianity/islam (which God IMO has), its beyond obvious its the same. I mean, what else can it be? Sure the word angel is used more in reference to a...
Lets see what a quick search gave me from some well known hindu sages:
Sivananda writes:
Angel is a divine messenger, or son of God. He corresponds to the Deva of the Hindus.

According to the Puranas...
The funny thing is just that they apparenty were all called mahanyana at the beginning. Not that hinayana (as we mean today) developed out of mahayana (as we mean today).
