Indeed you can fail at meditation if you think you can. Thankfully we have an unlimited number of retries.
In my experience, meditation stops being hard once you realize how easy it is. Of course, success is not usually all or nothing in meditation. It's not quite like flipping on a light...
Considering he's been inactive for more than 2 years, I find this doubtful. He's been preoccupied in the past but normally would pop in every once in a while. Some speculated that he might be dead. I've searched an online obituary for his hometown, which didn't turn up anything.
Cool and cloudy, but still sunny. Finals week and my degree program is coming to an end this summer. I've beared more stress than I can handle for the past year and a half. Looking forward to some peace.
I work in one of the clinical labs at Oregon Health and Science University in Portland Oregon. In the last couple of days, we've experienced a significant uptick in testing and now the city is covered in snow. There is tension in the air for sure. I perform testing of all kinds and have...
I talked to one of my co-workers a couple weeks back and she told me that her friend's husband works in border security. According to him, the mainstream media during their time "reporting" at the detention centers have been spinning the situation so far out of context that it essentially has...
He said he was planning on moving during spring time and was going to have a house-warming shindig with RF members, but apparently that never happened.
Ok, I know I'm really late to the party on this one, but what happened to Paul? It looks like he vanished from the board suddenly, which is quite unusual. Been gone for months. I do hope everything's alright. Does anyone have some insight?
Update
Here are some photos post-priming. I dropped by a Miller paint store and found a high-build acrylic primer called Super Seal. To my satisfaction, it performed almost exactly as I hoped. It works fine for scuffs and tiny pockmarks on broad flat surfaces, but it works really well for those...
The concept of white privilege is derived from a social-political ideology which claims that all "white" people, regardless of position or status in society, benefit from advantages granted to them by their peers on the sole basis of being perceived as part of the "white" race.
The concept of...
Jordan Peterson does a superb job expanding upon the significance of the biblical stories. He has a series on Youtube with about 30+ hours in talks. I have to say I have a newfound appreciation for the stories after listening to all of it.

Update.
The ceiling is ready for primer and paint. It's hard to visualize with photos, but I'd love to get some feedback. These photos are taken at night with a single light source. The photos with the light bloom were done with the light about 6" below the ceiling at a parallel angle. The...
Oh come on! Lol
I'd love to skim that room in two 20-minute coats with no sanding, but I work in a medical lab for a living. :D As long as it comes out looking good though, that's good enough for me.
Already there (hopefully). I am by no means a professional, but one thing I do have is time and patience. I cannot do a 2-coat skim without sanding, but maybe I can do 3 or 4 coats plus touch-up/sanding. I'm using thinned-down USG Topping Lite on top of the all-purpose light for the finish coats...

High Build Primer - Sherwin-Williams
Have you used it before? If so, can you speak to its practicality for roll-on applications? My understanding is that most of these high build primers are for production, i.e. sprayer. Are you a professional...
