All Abrahamic Faiths:
What would the Noachide laws look like under your Abrahamic faith?
What is meant is a code of basic, fundamental righteous behavior which would indicate a human who fears God and is not wicked.
(Plenty of links in google for the laws of Noah based on Judaism, so won't...
Depends on the tribe and/or if the tribal mindset was a part of you in your life.
I have about the same percentage, more or less, and have since my youth been influenced by it.
Not that such a percentage is enough for my tribe, but it's been enough for ME.
So, I consider myself tribal, but...
I think the best way to think of the difference is that Noachides follow the social justice laws but not the ceremonial laws. We are the Laity whilst they are the Clergy. The 10 commandments are a mixed bag in that regard, so Noachides don't use that term.
I am not under the rabbis in any way, and want to keep it that way.. lol
But, for the last 20+ years I've studied Torah as a Jew would , in Hebrew text with the commentaries, and found much more than I ever did with Christian Bible studies.
Don't need more than the Torah really.
To me, it's less to do with famous people in the bible than God's relationship with those people.
It's a search for the core, root expectations that God had for us. What rules we first were expected to follow.
The farther back we go, the closer we were to our creator, before we drifted ever...
So, I was wondering, why there is little Bahai input on the various Noahide threads.
While I know very little about the faith, I would have thought that the universal theme of the Noahide code would find some common ground?
Noachides worship the Abrahamic god, and use the same Torah/Bible (well, the first part of it anyway) as other Abrahamic faiths..
So in practice, not just *Everybody* can call themselves a Noachide/Abrahamic. Even though in theory they are as everyone is supposedly descended from Noah.
Right, those sub-DIRs don't seem very active, it'd be the same with a Noachide I think. Low numbers.
See, what I'd like is to be able to talk with various other Abrahamic faiths about things we have in common, and only those things.
Because, some members it seems to me, don't venture out of...
Well, I may be wrong, but it seems to me the OP's point of this poll is to show that ALL Abrahamic faiths are also Noachide faiths as well.
So posting in this DIR's relevant sub-DIRs is NOT like posting over in the Hindu DIR.
Because we might have some things in common here. So long as the...
... And then there is the opinion I heard recently (forget where) that Noah's generation & those before had a better intuitive knowledge (call it moral compass if you will) of right & wrong.
Maybe from the fruit of the Tree of good & evil in the garden?
Perhaps that's why there's no...
The real question is not are we currently a separate entity, but should we be?
Obviously, I believe we should be.
An organized Noachide faith clearly existed before the first Jew, Abraham.
See...
Been following the topic, would love to discuss but unsure if I can here.
So, a question, per the rules...
In the spirit of above post, don't you think it kind of crazy that Noachides don't have the rights to their own religion, that another faith claims this?
Yes, sure, Judaism has been the...
