Sorry, but I just don't believe you really have evidence from a billion years ago. Even if you did, you talk about something lending itself to errors and misinterpretation.
Hi Polymath257,
That's one of the reasons I have a problem with evolution. If it was really true that evolution is the way different species came to be, then there shouldn't be such gaps in the fossil records. There should be smooth transition. There should be more intermediate/transitional...
God himself came down and made himself a body to dwell in and sacrifice for sin. The Son (the body) was made of a woman and made during the time of the law. Galatians 4:4
I feel that same way about evolution. Can't have life evolving if there is no life to begin with. It took God breathing into man the breath of life for living man to exist. Explain how science solves it?
How can it bring you any closer to God, if it is only imaginary? That would be no different than someone starting a new religion, and making up a story to make them feel good about themselves.
Maybe all those miracles performed were just a story. Maybe he didn't part the waters of the Jordan either. Maybe Moses didn't strike the rock and water come out. If it's only a story, maybe it's only a myth that you were the people of God? After all if you can't trust what was written...
So that same thing should apply when someone tries to claim there is no God. Or that God didn't create things. Asserting that there is no God because it has not yet been proven to be true. It's an argument from ignorance fallacy.
