Look how difficult this is becomming. Apparent contradictions, etc etc. I suppose this is why most ancient Buddha's, Jina's, Gurus, etc. just said to stop thinking about it! haha
Rituals are few in the personal life of a Jain. Simply because Mahavir made spirituality simple and natural. Now, some of the rituals, called Pujas, can be done with incense, water, and things like that. Basically when performing a small ritual, one is praising the qualities of the Siddhas...
I watched one of your videos and saw your explenation of how to attain enlightenment. You made it as simple as saying a few words at the right before you?
Why would Buddha have spent years in a forest, Mahavir too? Why would Hindu Gurus meditate in caves and things like that if enlightenment...
After death one can either go to the Devaloka's, where the gods reside. Or you can stay here on earth, as a Human, animal, etc. Or you can be reborn in one of the Hells. Or if one practiced Spirituality deeply, you can be Liberated from the cycle of reincarnation.
There are two types of...
There is not, sorry. Jiva (the Soul) is a fundamental part of reality to Jain Dharma and is therefore necissary to believe in if you want to be a Jain.
Yes, there is! But, there is nothing you can do while in hell. You can practice Tapas, or austerity in this life, which can weaken or eliminate that Karma in the first place. So, really, if you happen to practice austerities alot, you can eliminate the Karma that will even send you to hell next...
This is exactly how I see it. I see no point is saying that Sri Sankara and Sri Krishna are avatars of two different Gods. Shiva and Vishnu are one to me, and therefore all avatars are avatars of the one God, Brahman.
Hey, I feel that it would be good for me to get back into Paramahamsa Yogananda's teachings. I need balance, positivity, and all that stuff back in my life. I need the spiritual aspect to be fulfilled and I feel that would be done best threw His teachings.
Hello again!

Our beliefs are different and thats ok, because in Saiva Siddhanta its not just "Be still and then you find your already it". There is a whole process that is done. Your right in that you are already it and that you just have to become aware of it, but why dont you just do it then? Becuase you...
May I ask why? :)
I feel that its very positive, that we shouldnt force ourselves but that it will happen when its ready. All will come in due time. All thats needed is that we experiance this world and once we experiance everything, we then want to experiance the last thing we can here...
True, but you must first transcend the mind to understand that. Isnt the transcendance of the mind "nirvana" or "enlightenment"? I would say yes, so even though from the perspective of the Sage the labels are meaningless, from the other perspectives they have meaning and are real. Can a dog...
I believe most of this depends on how you define enlightenment. If its the enlightenment found in Theravada, or in Shaivism, or in Vaishnavism, or any other form of enlightenment then its going to be very different for each. In Saiva Siddhanta dogs cant attain enlightenment because one must work...
What about Sahaja Samadhi? Ramana Maharshi speaks of it as the main goal for one who practices Atma-Vicara or Self-Inquiry. Sahaja means spontaneous or natural. Samadhi, well I know you know what that means. So Sahaja Samadhi is a natural samadhi that you are in all of the time. I would say that...
