Just like any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic, any sufficiently advanced being (or a being with the right kind of technology at its disposal) is indistinguishable from a deity.
I haven't peeked at the video, but even as an outspoken atheist, I've never encountered "people like this" in person. If I'd move to to hinterlands, that may change.
