Hi Pegg,
The Unity that Christ speaks of is under Him, yes.
I don't see much wiggle room here. But there are more verses yet if you would like to receive more confirmation.
As I read down through the thread this seems to be what you are engaging in as well.
It seems like the more rational explanation would be Jesus as prophet as He is the only one that could be "as one" with God considering He was raised from the dead.
I believe that it is more imminent today than it was 2,000 years ago. Yes, it is imminent but it might be another 2,000 years. God knows, we do not. :)
There are about 30 more verses that I could quote but I am always amazed when anyone who believes the Gospels would be able to come to any other conclusion than Jesus Christ is One with God.
I totally agree with this.
He died for everyone and for all sins. It was a sign that God will relate with man and is willing to step into their 'mess', take the blame for the mess that men made and even allow himself to be humiliated & killed on their behalf.
It was the purest act of love imaginable and it breaks all...
My land, the memories! Ethang5, I had forgotten about our zealous friend. I remember Steele (with some numerical extension), Bill Clute, Archie the Preacher, Dan (rest in peace), Big Cat, you, hmmmm....I know there are more that my mind won't conjure up right now. Has it been a decade? Wow!
From many, many moons ago, I remember a Tom Columbus from a site called Apologetics.org (forums were closed down after the death of one the mods).
Could this be the same guy? Thanks for the welcome!
Hi,
New member here! Christian seeking Holy Spirit fire and lively discussion! :-)
Not really into the hot debating anymore (a decade of that is enough). I am more interested in Christian theology and seeking ways to encourage fellow bros & sis's in Christ. Also, I am into good chats...
