As is usual, the book has a vast amount of twists and extra info that the movie does not explore. I would recommend it to anyone.
Of course, in some cases, the movie is better than the book, as is the case with LOTR, but I'd say Contact the book is better than the movie.
I think, if the teacher is that sure of the existence of God, that he would appreciate another like-minded soul, who is sure of the existence of God. That he doesn't appreciate his own kindred spirit shows that perhaps there is a paradox there, and his mind is still struggling with God himself...
I can't help but wonder what I am, whether Pagan or what. I believe in Jesus, but that he came to Earth many times, in many forms, as both male and female. "Jesus" was merely one aspect of god. So I often say, "By the gods." I also believe in a Heavenly Mother and Father. So, am I Pagan? Or am I...
As they say, imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. The person obviously admires many aspects of your religion, but wants to put their own stamp on it. Why does that bother you?

I was raised a Catholic but left the church at age 16. This is the first time in my life that it has even crossed my mind to return to Catholicism. I probably won't do it, but it has crossed my mind, and I'm sure I'm not the only one.
I find it hard to believe that Republicans ever forget about Obama, lol. However, I do agree with you.
It's a shame that goodness is a magnet for suffering. People don't like anyone who is too good; it shows them up. They prefer to see people with their own flaws so they can make themselves...
You mentioned the last universal ancestor in an earlier post, so I thought you might have a theory on LUCA. (Last Universal Common Ancestor)
I find it fascinating that the last universal common ancestor is now believed by some to have been much more advanced than previously thought. This...
Just curious, Savage, do you have a theory for or against the LUCA? I would like to hear it. (Although I am not on often lately; I've been terribly busy. I'll get back here though. :))
