100 Reasons why Evolution is Stupid - Dr. Hovind

If you want me take evolution seriously you won't have any problems answering all these simple questions. For simplicity's sake I'll limit it to 20 short questions.

1. What creates energy?
2. Is the universe eternal or is it finite?
3. Is the universe expanding?
4. What creates order?
5. Is there Oceans underneath the Mantle of the Earth?
6. Is Earth expanding?
7. Are the Stars expanding?
8. Is any other planet expanding?
9. What creates matter?
10. Is energy finite or infinite?
11. Is matter finite or infinite?
12. Does gravity push or pull?
13. If there is no Oceans underneath the Sea floors how is there continual springs of water on the Ocean-bed?
14. What's the difference between God and Nothing?
15. Can something be created out of nothing?
16. What came first energy or matter?
17. If the big bang happened matter would get farther and farther apart, what would draw it together.
18. If space was nothing how do we move through it?
19. If space is something how is it empty?
20. Does a rotating sphere have more force outside in or inside out?
I can answer all of these in one sentence. Not one of these has anything to do with the Theory of Evolution.

Gee, that was simple. Maybe Hovind doesn't know what evolution is, apparently?

Isn't Mr Hovind in prison nowadays? For like Fraud or Tax evasion?

Yes indeed, read his page at Wikipedia if you want to know what they say about him.

To the contrary, they all have something to do with the theory of evolution even if it has been hidden from you.

LOL - from that Wikipedia page, about him owing $600,000, he was recorded saying:

"If it's just money the IRS wants, there are thousands of people out there who will help pay the money they want so I can go back out there and preach."

Yep, sounds about right. Another Cash Preacher.

Sculelos, let me help spear you some embarassment. Read up a bit about Evolution, then look back on the questions you asked. You will then be able to see the link (?) between them and evolution in the privacy of your bedroom.

Air has to do with evolution if you want to use that argument. No, the Theory of Evolution has to do with one thing: Biology. It has to do with how species evolved. That's the Theory of Evolution.

You've lost the debate, not even out of the gate. :)

If however you wish to talk about cosmology or something, that's another matter. But the title of your thread is about evolution. None of the stuff you meant to argue against the ToE, is actually part of the ToE!

Surely you can have something to offer about the Theory of Evolution in order to tell us all why it's stupid?

Let's say if Evolution is true their must be at least one case where we can compare two kinds that can interbreed but yet have different limb count or different rib count or different kinds of abilities of some level or sort that is the sort of evidence I would like to see if true and certainly it would exist in some form if evolution could be or would be true. Show me that if you can or answer the other questions that I posted if you can not show me physical evidence show me logical evidence. And no if it's smaller then my hand I don't want to see it.

Before I, or anyone else who cares to pluck this bird, answers this question, I want to ask a question that needs to be answered first. Why is evolution being wrong so important to you with your religious beliefs? Why can't your religious beliefs still be believed, even if the theory of evolution that 99.9% of the worlds experts in science all acknowledge is true? Why is disbelieving evolution so important to you?

Let's tackle that more challenging question rather than us covering the ground that any actual research you should choose to pursue could easily answer for you? Can you faith stand if evolution is true? Answer that, if you can.

Hmmmm....does Kent Hovind being stupid make him more, or less, qualified to point out whether things are stupid?

Dunning Kruger effect. The stupider you are, the higher you tend to estimate your own competence. The more competent you are, the less highly you regard your capabilities. The two vectors cross somewhere around the middle. Only mediocre people are right about how competent they are.

So, less qualified. Science says so. Only mediocre people should be allowed to assess the stupidity of things.

This makes absolutely no sense. What exactly do you think the theory of evolution predicts? I want to help you understand where you've gone wrong in the red bit, but I hardly know where to start! I'll try anyway.

1. There is no such thing as a "kind" of animal.
2. The definition of a "species" is that they cannot interbreed with other species (generally)
3. Change happens slowly in animal evolution. Offspring are not born with radical new traits - they look almost exactly like their parents - but not quite.

Physical evidence for evolution? We've observed it directly in nature and the laboratory. The entire fossil record supports it. Geology supports it. Chemistry supports it. We have been consciously engineering novel traits in domestic animals for centuries through selective breeding - this would be impossible if evolution were not true. DNA evidence supports it. Really, I can't be bothered to make you a list. BECAUSE IT IS TRUE, all the evidence we have ever accumulated in any scientific field whatsoever supports it. Just crack open a non-religious book. It will show you evidence supporting evolution.

Logical evidence? I am not going to get into this with a person who agrees with 99% of everything Kent Hovind says. Kent Hovind is the LEAST logical person on the face of the planet. If you like, I am willing to get into what logic is and how it works. Interested?

I agree with the man as he says "don't call it science if you can't explain it". And guess what?....You will say it's NOT evolution. OMG. It is only what evolution NEEDS to work. Evolution needs a beginning. Evolution needs power. Explain the beginning. Tell us where the power came from.

Where did the power come from?

That's not what evolution does though...that's not at all what it addresses. However I can understand why at least those of the abrahamic (particularly Christianity) faiths, would be against Evolution...especially if you take things such as "original sin" and "Genesis" Literally.

You did not watch the film. Variations in Kinds is called micro evolution by the science community. Micro evolution is a fact.

What is a kind?

Group that share common traits?

So if that's what you want to say then wouldn't kind agree with evolution? I mean Chimps and Gorillas have Thumbs...we have thumbs. They have hearts...we have hearts...they have lungs...we have lungs...they communicate, we communicate, they use tools, we use tools, they mourn their dead, we mourn our dead. They eat banana's, we eat banana's...those are traits we have in common with them, more so than other animals out there...so humans and chimps are the same kind.

Again, why do people of supposed faith need evolution to be wrong? What, pray tell me, is wrong with this? Anyone? Anyone?
