Last year Bradford College, where I used to work, joined forces with Leeds metropolitan University and the Park lane College to form the largest group of post 16-Education in the country.
Bradford College is the largest provider in the UK, of Degree level education out side the university sector, some 4000 students out of its 28,000 students.
This has formed a post 16 total of about 100,000 students in the group.
By the end of the year numerous other Colleges will have completed their joining with the group. This will provide a total of over 250.000 Students, linked to the one University. Such a grouping is unheard of in the UK.
I am told that In America they have state systems set up like this, Can any one tell me how they work?
