A better way to convert sinners

The Transcended Omniverse

Instead of having a god who punishes sinners and condemns them to hell which is sure to stir up hate and rejection of his fellow human creations, then why not allow these sinners to live in selfish sin all they want to until they eventually grow tired of it and change out of boredom? That would be a much better solution here then forcefully imposing upon these people's ways of living. I say, allow them to be hedonistic all they want and let them have all the "me" time all they want until they eventually grow tired of it and decide to finally serve god, help others, etc. Therefore, why can't this better solution be implemented? Why must sinners be punished and condemned?

If a parent punishes a child time and time again and this child never learns and is still rebellious, then the best thing to do here would be to give up on that child and leave that child to his/her own selfish lifestyle until one day the child grows tired of it and decides to change for the better.

Those who try to convert others need to look in their own backward first, who are they to throw the first stone ?.

Two problems I see with this.

First, I don't believe believers possess sufficient conscious control of their beliefs to be able to alter it based on logic and reason.

Second, a child or even an adult is unlikely to grow tired or bored of their behavior if completely left to their own devices. Folks do what they do because they get something, generally pleasure out of it. If nothing prevents them from getting that pleasure, they're not likely to stop. Serial killers get pleasure from killing folks. There is no chance they are going to become bored of that activity. I do boring things because of consequences. I'd much rather be doing things I get pleasure from.

What about the harm they would cause to others in the meantime ?

If it were not written in your babble that your god is a genocidal child murderer who condones rape, slavery, subjugation, theft and intolerance. If the religious did not lie for their god belief, for their faith. If they did not cherry pick from the babble and ignore that they personally dont like. And if there were any evidence of a gods existence rather than multiple evidences to disprove any gods. Then and only then is it worth you requesting that mr joe blogs none believer considers your faith as something worth thinking about.

And as a final thought, it is entirely up to mr joe blogs skeptic to chose for himself.

I am for people learning the hard way, only because thats the method people prefer, but only to a certain extent. If I could stop my child from doing a grievous crime I would.

That's actually more like what is written in the bible than the popular -and not biblical -idea of hell. Some would not simply get tired of it, though.

13Every man's work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man's work of what sort it is. 14If any man's work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward. 15If any man's work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire.

The popular concept of hell, the concept I and others like me are threatened with on a regular basis derives the 14th century Inferno by Dante Alighieri and the paintings of 15/16 century Hieronymus Bosch.

I find it highly amusing that the claimed "biblical" threat offered by so many fundamentalist Christians is actually a comedy and works of art.
