A career; both Noble and Good.

Just wondering about peoples' opinions on the best career.
If you had/have a child.....what would be the career you would hope they went into, and why?

No, don't worry, I'm not about to force my kids down some career path against their wills.

But really...a job that is Noble, in that it is for the right cause. It is helping people. It is fighting the good fight....:clap......and is Good, in that your child will get a decent (or better) incom. Won't be at risk of life and limb. Won't get burned out. and will be happy....:)

The registry for nominations is now open.

Technical jobs, if he has the inclination. Something along the lines of coding, developing or web design.

Seek a good quality teaching of maths and logical thinking if you want to help him out. But don't overlook the possibility that he has interest in the human areas. It can be a marvelous area to work in.

Rather than a career, i would just hope for certain types of jobs.

Some jobs allow for more progress, for more balance between the effort put in and the reward received, for possible feeling of fulfillment, and for conditions or work environment that i'd generally consider healthy, in comparison to others.

That goes for so many types of jobs, and i don't care about any particular career path nearly enough so as to hope for my hypothetical children to go into them.

Basically, whatever, as long as it allows them to be as happy as they could be, from my perception of happiness. That's just what i'd hope for, but in the end the choices are naturally theirs.

As a Taoish individual, I must say that the noblest career path for any child in my care is that which is most consistent with their own nature. Although I personally have a great fondness for artists and a terrible loathing for bankers, I would never pressure an artistic child to become a banker, or a selfish, materialistic child to become an artist. I would only suggest that their chosen career remains within the boundaries of the law and basic human decency.
