What do you think?

In 36 hours, about 150 National Guardsmen were summoned to remove from Martha's Vineyard refugees.
In a place of millionaires that can take care of 80,000 tourists, there was no place in the Inn for 50 Venezuelans. Those who espoused love and inclusion apparently were saying "Inclusion so long as I don't have to deal with it".
At least that is what it appears like to me.
Well, I don't think anyone really expected they would become permanent residents on Martha's Vineyard. I don't know what's going to happen, whether they'll be allowed to stay or offered a chance at citizenship, but if they are, then I guess they could move to Martha's Vineyard if they really wanted to live there.
In general, I kind of agree that these wealthy, limousine liberal types can be irritating and oftentimes come off as hypocritical.
I don't know that I would be so quick to brand them as "racists," unless they do or say something that's overtly racist. Sometimes, I think that word gets tossed around a bit too casually these days, especially from the right-wing where they try to justify by saying "well, they're doing it too." That seems to be a much-used talking point from the right, constantly accusing the left of being racist in order to dilute the accusations of racism coming from the left.
And I don't doubt that one could likely find plenty of examples of people who identify as liberal or leftist who don't practice what they preach. We could probably find a similar number of examples of conservatives or rightists who also don't practice what they preach.
I guess that makes them hypocrites, but I also look at the ideas themselves to decide whether I agree with them. I also recognize that there may be those who also claim to agree with a set of ideas, yet then do something different which might make them seem insincere or hypocritical.
