A CHRIST-mass gift for my Christian RF family.

blackout

Violet.
I truly hope you enjoy the following recording.
Enter in/to the Stable...
was one of my very most beautiful compositions
written while I was still a church musician.
This was my last christmas there...
and while I no longer fit any church structures...
I still loved Jesus' message...
(as REALLY I still do now)
that the kingdom of God is Within.

It seems rather a shame that no one should enjoy the recording
and so... while it makes me just a bit melancholy...
and no longer reflects my present experience of life and God
as it used to...

I offer it to you with love.

(the recording is very rough,
recorded "live" as I sang and played it at mass,
that christmas morning...
on my little non-stereo voice dictator.
I typed out the words below
in case they could not all be understood.)

Tinsel and lights are as nothing
In the shining of your glory
In the shimmer of your grace

The myths of men are all but folly, and fade out
In the splendor of your truth
No story can erase

The little fingers and the tiny hands
That would grow to work great wonders
In a cold ungrateful land

The tiny toes, the little feet
That would one day walk the lonely road to calvary
That we might be free…

Enter in Enter in … to the Stable
Enter in to the spirit he is waiting there for you
Enter in Enter in… to his glory…

You don’t have to travel far
To find the morning star
You only need to look within
Enter in…..

Wise men seek him and they see the signs
That the others walk on by
And they take a different road

The world around them runs a tired race
But they’ve given up their burdens
For a life of truth and grace…

The shining eyes that see eternity
They look into the very heart and soul of me…
The little mouth …
The tiny voice…
That proclaimed unto the world
That it now had a choice…

Between death and sin,
Or life within.

Enter in Enter in … to the Stable
Enter in to the wonder of his kingdom within..
Enter in Enter in… to his glory…

Be a Wise man, be a king
But you must give your everything.
The JOY will make your Spirit Sing…..

HallelUYah! HallelUYah!
Hosanah on High!
Dawn of Creation…
Light of the World…
Child of salvation
Eternal Word…

Star of the Ages…to…
To lead and to guide..
God Within us…
And in him … we * abide…..

Enter in Enter in … to the Stable
Enter in-to his Spirit
This isn’t a fable…
Enter in Enter in… to the Story…

Be a shepherd, be and angel…
But you must come into the stable!
And lay your life before the King..
There’s not a thing you cannot bring
Why don’t you give him everything…

Enter in…
Lord Jesus…

Enter in.

How come you're not smiling in the picture?

Hi SU.
Because I don't really know you,
I'm not quite sure what to make of your question.

R U concerned about me?
Genuinely? Doctrinally?
Is there something you think you're seeing there?
In my expression?
Is there a judgement you're inclined to make?
In my "joyless" expression?
Or perhaps it's just a lighthearted curiosity...
(that doesn't .... or does?to you... have something to do with my song?/OP?)

Perhaps it is a sign to you?
of how unhappy I am now that I no longer have my christian faith?

I don't know.
I'm literally grasping at straws here.
But really your motivation doesn't matter...
and I'm "game" to answer the question the best I can,
because I guess in some kind of way it is a valid question.
A valid curiosity.

After all most people "smile" for their christmas card pictures... right?

blackout

Violet.
ok then.

On the most superficial level
I chose this particular picture
because I looked the best in it,:flirt:
and it was compositionally better than the others.

My "default" expressions have always been of the more "serious" nature.
Whenever I try "forcing" or "creating" a smile...
it looks forced and created. not natural.
It was no different this day.
My only good "smiling" pictures are the REAL ones,
the candid ones.

We did not get any of those that day.

As well,
I am PARTICULARLY self conscious about smiling these days,
because I have two cracked front teeth.
And no money to pay to have them fixed.
Still I have decided I really can't put it off any longer
(it's been more than a year... maybe two)
because greater damage caused by neglect
will just cost me a whole lot more.

So off to the charge card I go.
Fixing my teeth will be my xmass gift to myself this year.

Now...
I don't mind digging just a bit deeper into the question.
I do that sort of thing with myself all the time anyway.

YOU may however be sorry you asked the question
by the time I am done. ;)(and everyone else)...

blackout

Violet.
As I said, I am a very REAL person.
Always have been.
Don't like BSing.
I have nothing to "proove" to anyone.
No social expectations to fill.
No airs to put on.

When I narrowed my christmas picture down to this one,
I almost thought of not putting it up.
Because...
I am not blind...
and I see that my eyes look sad.

I asked my daughter...
should I put it up?
She said sure mom. Why not.
She was only sorry she could not get a better shot.

It is a dichotomy.
This is the first christmas/xmass we have participated in
in five years I believe. (maybe 4)
We all have had so much fun.
We call our tree a "whimsy tree".
We made every decoration on it...
and every decoration on it
is a personal symbolism...
of our reality as a family...
and our unique realities as seperate individuals.
The tree SPEAKS of who we are.
It is a work of art.
A "family tree" of another kind.
So on the "holiday" front we are all about a deep satisfaction here.
It has been a much needed joy and warmth.

Still there are other major things in my life right now...
that are a deep source of saddness. very very deep.
But this season of challange will pass into a new one,
as they always do.

It is true.
When I look into the eyes of my picture...
When I look through those eyes...
there is much saddness.

And it is real.

I am healing year by year.
Who knows...
maybe next year will record the joyous elation of my physical self!
It is presently the very thing I am stepping into.
What an awesome awesome joy that would be...
and a great accomplishment for me.

I hope I didn't ruin the thread.

One last thought.
The song...
"Enter in/to the Stable"
was my greatest healing in one of the hardest seasons of my life.
Perhaps that is why it is still so dear to me.

It was the reflection of a spiritual paradigm shift in me.
And the entire song poured through me in just two days.
Finished the eve of christmas,
when I first needed to sing it.

"Stable" BTW... is a double entendre.
What I meant was... "Enter into stability".
Enter into the deep life.

ok. enough.

It's Christmas.
Have a blessed one.

Ugh, my windows media player isn't working right now. This will give me a great incentive to fix it.

Just reading your poetry is enough though. You're a great writer. I like your posts.

You're of immeasureable worth to God and to this forum.

Hi Ultra violet and Merry Christmas to you. It appears that this link does not work or is in a format not recognised by standard media player codecs.

The words to your song were most interesting, thanks for sharing.

I must say that true peace and stability is only found through peace with God, and a life built upon the rock of His truth. All other ground is sinking sand Ultra Violet. You may find find little tastes of His truth elsewhere and they will temporarily quench your thirst for peace and truth but until you drink from the pure Fountainhead of the Water of life that comes from Jesus - you will thirst again.

Godbless you and your family.

the file is not an MP3 but it played on my system so I didn't worry about it.

If I get the chance I'll convert it in my wave editor...
or try and find the original MP3 recording.
Though there doesn't seem to be much interest honestly.

Still I would do it just for FFH.
So I will.

BTW I didn't put the song up to be preached at or corrected.
I did the devout christian/catholic thing for MANY years.
I have absolutely NO desire to ever do it again.
I'm much much happier now.
(even if my picture gives another impression at first glance.
Actually I'm looking better than ever now.
I gained so much weight during my church years. ugh.)

But whatever. The prostelitizing is to be expected I suppose.

Still have a wonder-filled Christmas.

Violet.

Super Universe

Defender of God
I'm concerned about everyone. It's what I do. At times, though, it's necessary to project tough love to certain brothers and sisters who have closed their minds off to the real beauty of the universe.

But your mind is not closed off, it's very open, that's why the frown seemed so unlike you.

Something made you replace the veiled picture, the one that made you a mystery, I thought maybe you were a fairy who got away from a cruel keeper and escaped to live in the forest with the hummingbirds.

So, maybe I can cheer you up just a tiny bit. You enjoy music so perhaps this will do the trick:

WingMakers Chamber Painting Introduction

Click on the Wingmakers Radio in the upper left corner and hit continuous so it plays through all of the songs. If you want, you can peruse the gallery of colorful paintings as well.

Don't worry, no proseletyzing. It's not what we do...

Oh, this website has better music:

So I will.
I'm really into Christian music. I'm still very interested in listening to your work. It was so refreshing to read your work, it touched me to the core.

BTW...I don't attend church right now either.

God totally understands there are people who make going to church miserable for the rest of us who truly do love God with all their hearts, if you really dig deep down to the core.

Looking for the Windows Media player version 11 for Windows Vista, which I currently have, but need to redownload it. I've been to Microsoft's Windows Media player page, but can't seem to locate the download link for Windows Vista, only Windows XP, they may be just working out the bugs in the Vista version of this player right now. It doesn't work right/flawlessly yet with older programs (audio files and players).

For instance I just downloaded an internet answering machine (Buzz Me) and it messed up my Windows Media player, it was working fine before I downloaded their software, should have gone with CallWave instead of Buzz me. Warning: Buzz me will mess up your Windows Media player version 11 for Windows Vista !!! :(

I'm so frustrated with this player (Windows Media version 11 for Windows Vista)

Someone help !!!

A techy preferably...:)
