A conduit for The Holy Spirit?

(This is in discussion, not debate)

Has anyone here felt the Holy Spirit work through them?

(or some other supernatural thing, if you are not Christian?)

I have

This is what happened:

I was once at a "charismatic" church (doing the Alpha Course) and we took it in turns to heal each other of various things, using the laying-on of hands and prayer.

Eventually, it came to be my turn to join two other people in attempting to faith-heal a young man

He said that he had a weak personality and wanted some help to over come this and become strong

I put a hand on his shoulder and then something remarkable happened: I started pouring fourth fluent prayer, asking The Holy Spirit to heal him, it felt as though I was channelling some higher power, maybe even The Holy Spirit himself? The words just spilled out of me, no thinking was involved. It felt really strange.

I felt as though my entire attention, my whole consciousness, was intensely focused on the young man

I had not experienced anything like that before and haven't done since

The pastor noticed too, and agreed that something weird had just happened

I have no idea whether or not the young man was healed of his affliction

But I count this episode as being an experience of The Holy Spirit.

I now believe that The Holy Spirit did this for my benefit, rather than for the benefit of the young man!

The Holy Spirit is with in all of us.
All of the Time
Calling us to God
Guiding us
and Comforting us.
However we control the curtain that hides him from us.
we can accept him into our lives or not
it is our choice.

Perhaps you just drew back the curtain a little at that moment.

The Bible spoke of Jesus feeling virtue flow out of him and the woman with the issue of blood was healed.

Remembering a teen ager that and a physical issue that when I prayed, I actually felt something flow out of me, she fell backwards and got up healed.

Can you enlighten me more on The Holy Spirit? I mean does the Holy Spirit move from one place to another?
I haven't read the complete Bible, but i went through a few verses where it said that The Holy Spirit descended upon a few men from above, in the Pentecost. In another verse IT flew in the form of a dove.

I'm into Hinduism actually. And the hindu scriptures speak of an infinite, eternal Spirit called Brahman, which is omnipresent and immovable.
Do you think, the Holy Spirit and Brahman are one and the same? Thanks.

I would say that that is very likely, though I am only speaking for myself. I would agree that the Holy Spirit Is Omnipresent.

I would say about Pentecost, that The Holy Spirit was not some thing new, but had always existed. but only seemed to come down to them as they had been made aware of him. But it was certainly an important Knowledge.

Like everything else in the Bible, it is not clear but left for our discovery and interpretation.

I wonder what skeptics make of these things.
That we would want to heal someone else of their suffering is a good thing. That we would want to wield that kind of power, is not. This is why I will avoid these kinds of "magical" expressions of religiosity like a plague.

Sometimes I feel like my prayers were so intense, the feelings of being close to God was so intense, that it made me freak out bit. Not sure if this counts.

You are Close to the Holy Spirit, he is with in you. sometimes you open a kink in the curtain.

One time I really wanted the Holy Spirit. Back in May 2012, I met a couple for the first time. I had mentioned at some point to them my desire for the Holy Spirit. I mentioned that in the book of Acts that the Holy Spirit had so evidently came on people. So, I was prayed for to receive or be filled with the Holy Spirit. While I was being prayed for, I felt this overwhelming heat . I had turned and started to fall forward but I had reached out to the man’s wife so that I didn’t go down all the way. Had I not had her support, I might have landed on the ground.

Since that time, I have felt comfortable calling God “ Father” where as before I did not feel comfortable with calling God Father.

It is not a good idea to ignore evidence like that however.

A friend's son in law who was a sceptic but looking, ended up in a church and feeling as if he was being forced to the floor onto his knees. He now believes.
