A dream of death.

Last night (towards the morning), I had this dream. I normally have very mundane dreams and do not remember them long. I know that dreams arise when the body is not in a comfortable position. Such dreams are sort of effort by brain/body to interrupt the sleep so that the person can get into a more comfortable position. I do not remember this dream also very clearly, but a few things stand out.

I was with (guess who), Pakistani Muslims. I do not remember of being in my current age, I was sort of younger, going around in their city with a few boys and girls. Had meals with them, puris, I do not remember with what I was supposed to eat it. Then, a girl comes and tells me that I have been identified as a spy. Takes me to an officer, who says they will see (Dekhenge).

I wander off with the girl, come to a border railway station (India is across the line). There is a mud patch, and a sweeper is throwing boxes in it. Then some one brings a box and tells him that it is Dr. So and so. The sweeper throws the box in the muddy gutter and says 'there you go Dr. So and so'. Then the girl embraces me from behind (in a sisterly way), she is weeping, and tells me that I will have to die. I reply in a matter of fact way "Well, if I have to die, then so be it'. I thought I would also end up as a box and the sweeper would throw the box in mud. And I wake up.

Silly dream. I am sure, Pakistanis are not hunting for me. Does not trouble me a bit. But then, this is what it was. Now, those who are more imaginative can give me their assessment of the dream.

What this indicates to me, is that this 'death' is more of a symbolic one.

The girl in your dream (girls in dreams usually represent Divine Mother Goddess) is throwing out boxes (personal ideas of self or ego) with a - 'this belongs to Dr. So and so'...now, being a doctor, he'd have a lot of credentials and philosophies he would be quite proud of, no?

So, Devi is destroying the pride of the illuminati. She is teaching you a lesson in humility, Aup.

What is 'dying' is your ego...your notion of 'I am Brahman'.

The association of Pakistani Muslims in the dream, indicates there may be some hidden bias or indifference, or something there about this group that needs to 'die' in order for you to progress.

I was hesitant mentioning this before until the time was right...I have read all your discussions about how Brahman is non-theistic and how you have 'realised Brahman', and I was debating with myself whether or not to post something you said once, but now is that time:

http://www.religiousforums.com/forum/3624351-post18.html

How does Brahman 'speak' to you?

This is what your dream was all about.

The box reminds me of a coffin. Many Christians and Muslims use a coffin box. I recall seeing on Televison after the death of Ayatollah they put him in a coffin box (which actually opened at one point and the body sort of fell out in the frenzy of wailing and crying).

I think this box represents religion, but not your current "religion".

The Pakistanis represent some others who are not part of your IMMEDIATE family, but yet related in a distant way as well. You recognise in them a "connection", they are nice to you but the "authority" they report to is considering you as not part of the family religion.

You observe that they have forced Dr So and So to be put in the coffin (e.g. to die the old religion and be put into the resting place of a different religion). You feel you are also going to die (change) and become a NEW "religion", but you have no interest to be put in that box representing the "foreign" religion.

In the end, you are NOT put into that box, that coffin, yet you WILL die (change into your NEW perspective or "religion").

But... that is just my Humble "rope trick".

Interesting dream, when we have such condition where we are about to die in dream we wake up as our mind resist death.

Last night (towards the morning), I had this dream.

You're reaching that expiration date, which is very close by - lurking in the shadows, waiting for that moment to swing down its sickle in deathly fury. But, don't worry - even Almighty Death can be stopped! I have Black Magic status type music that will breath life into you.

Behold: Overnight Rejuvenation!!

"Oh, you thought we couldn't do it again?!" :beach:

The "box" is apparently a pencil box [which are very popular in the Subcontinent] used in schools. Thus, according to WonderWho, it could be a pencil case company that is famous in Pakistan that is "speaking subconsciously" to Aup in his dreams in order for him to order/purchase many Pakistani-based pencil boxes and fill them up with pencils by Indus(c) to gift to his great-grandchildren. :D

How does one arrive at THAT conclusion merely from a statement regarding ashes being placed in a box which is in turn thrown into the mud? How strange, lol...

Creativity...but, let us pray that this humble old man, that has nightmares about death by Pakistani-based pencils, passes away with a smile with a pencil case filled with Indus© pencils laying next to him - pencils that were used extensively by him for in-book notes and citations on his one and only Collector's Edition, autographed copy of Tilak's Arcitc Home in the Vedas. :D

My wife sometimes puts on "Om, Tryambakam Yajamahe .." in the morning, and the chant goes on and on repeatedly in the CD. How can I interfere in somebody else's belief, more particularly when it is my wife of 46 years. :D

At the moment my younger grandson is sleeping nearby. I will listen to the song later.

And "The Orion or the Inquiry on the Antiquity of Vedas". These two books are very dear to me. In 6,000 BC, the sun rose in the asterism of Castor and Pollux (Punarvasu) of which the deity is Aditi. RigVeda says 'Aditi is the mouth and the end of the year', Aditi is the year', 'Ubhayataru', 'when the devas lost the year, Aditi found it', etc. My grandfather translated both books in Hindi. I do not underline passages in any book. I would very much like a twig from a tree in Sharada village in Pakistan controlled Kashmir. Perhaps I can request someone in Pakistan. I am sure they would graciously oblige me. That being the love/hate relationship between India and Pakistan.

Say that Soma in RigVeda means Moon, or some such silly thing. I am sure you would find many followers. Did not Swami Dayananda Saraswati get many followers?

With this playing all day it´s impossible to die. :D

As for the dream, I think it is you feeling different then most people, represented by Muslims in the dream, most people are religious and you are Atheist.
The girl in the dream is sad and says that you will die, but you matter of factly says; "Or I could just be a box" In other words you are saying; "Nah, there is no afterlife or God."

The box may be smaller, but be ashes in a small box it could still represent religion, and combining this with the obvious symbolic death, "death" typically represents change.

So perhaps as it struck me, you are going to change (or "upgrade" ? ) your philosophy or religion but it will NOT be the one some in your extended family wish to "force" on you.

Or this dream could mean you ate too many chapatis before bed time. (just joking) ... but I don't think you are going to die.

Upgrade? What upgrade is available on Hinduism and 'advaita'? :D

About Puris: It was not normal puri (how should I translate it - fried tortilla?), but the special kind of puri that one gets in Delhi Agra region - wheat flour which is some what granular filled with lentils, Urad (black gram) or Moong (green/golden gram), and I thought how come Bedmi is available in Pakistan also. Normally it is eaten with spicy potato curry, but I remember I was looking for a non-vegetarian dish to go with it, a glutton that I am. At that time I did not know that I was going to die soon. :jiggy:
