I went out today, telling my self that it was for lunch. It is now past 9 pm and I have not eaten since getting up around 12 hours ago, so much for lunch. In truth, I went out to avoid seeing and hearing the assorted scum who once again have invaded my street and feel entitled to take over peoples doorways and front gardens.
Anyway, I went to a nearby pub. They have big screens and although I am not a sports fan generally, I found myself thoroughly enjoying the coverage of the women's gymnastics. I did not care what nationality they were, I just enjoyed their obvious skill and determination.
However, I had bought a newspaper on my way to the pub. It was filled with the tragedy from Merseyside and several times I had to fight back tears.
Despite the wonderful, and there is lots of that, I am finding it increasingly difficult to live in this messed up world.
