A "good" conspiracy?

A Conspiracy is a secret plan to steer human affairs in a certain direction by influencing both elites and the masses. In such a way that they don't know what's happening.

It has acquired rather negative connotations.

Question: Is it possible for there to be a morally good conspiracy?

A conspiracy that does not seek to line its own pockets?

A conspiracy that does not seek to further the interests of the rich and powerful at the expense of everyone else?

A conspiracy that does not seek to bring warfare, suffering, and devastation to our world?

A conspiracy that does not seek to slavishley serve either Capitalism of The Establishment?

But one that seeks to make Earth more peaceful, free, and developed?

i.e. one that is not self-serving, but that seeks to further the long-term common good?

Question: Is such a thing possible? Does such a thing already exist?

If so, where do I sign up? And if I can't sign up, how can I do my bit?

By definition a conspiracy is "a secret plan by a group to do something unlawful or harmful." so the answer is no.

Well, there might some instances where a conspiracy may be unlawful although still morally good, such as underground resistance groups in WW2.

Flat-Earthers don't hurt anybody.
They just need to visit the ISS...so they can decide whether to deny what their eyes see...or not.
:p
They really should go there.

I'd like to go there. If I claim to be a flat earther, would that entitle me to a free trip to the ISS? Shoot, a lot of people would claim to be flat earthers to get that opportunity.

But by definition a good conspiracy would be "a secret plan by a group do do something lawful or beneficial" :D

If it was lawful, it wouldn't really need to be secret, though. However, something like a surprise birthday party might be another example of a good conspiracy which is both lawful and beneficial. Although it really only involves keeping it secret from the person whose birthday it is, whereas it's no secret to anyone else.

The Freemasons and Illuminati were a group that wanted to further the ideas of humanism. Beneficial but illegal at the time.
Freemasons still exist but I doubt they they still have conspiracy on their mind.

Well, the western nations conspired against the Axis powers during the last World War.......

My family conspired to throw my wife a birthday party........

So, yes.

I believe there was such an attempt by Francisco de Miranda, an early pioneer working for the independence of Spanish South America. A Freemason himself, he would start his own Lodge, and recruit young promising South Americans into its ranks, presumably with the long-term goal of building a cadre of committed revolutionaries that would have the strength of conviction and the liberal background to overthrow the Spanish colonial regime and install a free and democratic order. As far as I know, some influential figures of the South American independence wars, like Simón Bolívar, were members of his Lodge.

It would spawn/align with other Lodges who had similar goals, such as the more Chilean centered Lautaro Lodge:
