Abiogenisis hasn't been shown. The big bang breaks down at a certain point.....

Now some say "abiogenisis is proven" because there was once no life then there was life...created or not.. Its abiogenisis.

Does that mean since the big bang breaks down at a point that it was created? Its the same concept and logic isn't it.

I believe in a Higher Power, but not because it can be proven by use of logic or reason. The standard model of cosmology dangles the possibility of answers to many fascinating questions, but science alone can never answer the really big questions, like, “Who am I, why am I here, what does it mean to be a finite being in an infinity of space and time?” Nor can cosmology tell us, in the words of Stephen Hawking, “What is it that puts the fire in the equations?” And, “Why does the universe go to all the trouble of existing in the first place?”

Interesting answer. But I am wondering what this 8 ball looking thing is in your reply...

Can you expand a little on what you mean by a "higher being"?

I don't know, I usually don't use that phrase.
And what's more, nobody else knows. No two people can agree on the properties of such a being/force.

You asked what a higher power was.

I replied with "A god, a diety, a...."

You replied "then no"

So I assumed you had something different in mind.

I imagine the best thing to do is to get those properties from the higher being.
But yes I know, people disagree on if a higher being has spoken to humans and if so which one is it?
This is no reason to say there is no higher being of course and imo all this confusion could even be a reason to believe in a deceptive higher being, a Satan.
The confusion certainly would be a prediction of the Satan hypothesis, but yes I know, it's not science so it must be untrue. :)

I answered yes, but there is really no answer that accurately reflect my understanding of this, mainly because I draw a dichotomy between "think/believe" and "know."

I'm sorry, but I don't see how this is in any way relevant to the question. Did you mean to ask, "Do you think/believe there is a higher organism?"

I'd vote don't know, don't care if multiple votes were allowed.

I suspect I will never know. At some point I'll die and I still won't know so what would be the point in caring?
Why care about something you'll most likely never have the answer to?
Just accept your ignorance, your continued ignorance and forget about it.

Use any and all pronouns including neo and it/it's
A isn't specific enough. Implies i only believe in one higher power. I am polytheistic...

I hope there's no God.
No God watching children raped. No God watching starvation, earthquakes, overpopulation, pollution - no God sitting back ignoring prayers, rewarding greed, blessing entitled prideful pedophiles.

I hope it's just the laws of nature.

If you cook a meal, are you responsible for someone taking home the leftovers, leaving them on their counter, eating them 2 days later, and getting food poisoning?

Your reply assumes omnipotence, omnipresence, and ability/desire to intervene in worldly affairs. Why do you assign such qualities to a god that you apparently do not even know exists?

I'm agnostic, hopeful athiest.
Not omnipotent, not present, not powerful, not creator, not loving - not God. Yes, let's hope this mess was not created and abandoned by any conscience entity.
