a house divided cannot stand, Melania

Good grief.

CHICAGO (AP) — Melania Trump revealed her support for abortion rights Thursday ahead of the release of her upcoming memoir, exposing a stark contrast with her husband, Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump, on the crucial election issue.
In a video posted to her X account Thursday morning, the former first lady defended women’s “individual freedoms” to do what they want with their bodies — a position at odds with much of the Republican Party and her own husband, who has struggled to find a consistent message on abortion while wedged between anti-abortion supporters within his base and the majority of Americans who support abortion rights.
“Individual freedom is a fundamental principle that I safeguard,” Melania Trump said in the video. “Without a doubt, there is no room for compromise when it comes to this essential right that all women possess from birth: individual freedom. What does ‘my body, my choice’ really mean?”
Way to go, Melania. Where were you in 2016, when Donald promised the religious right that he would stack the US Supreme Court with their people, who would overturn Roe v. Wade?

WASHINGTON - Former President Donald Trump addressed former First Lady Melania Trump’s abortion comments in her upcoming memoir, saying in an interview that he encouraged his wife to write what she believes.

His remarks come after the Guardian reported that Melania Trump defended abortion rights and wrote that the government should not interfere in a woman’s right to choose in her book Melania, which will be released Oct. 8.

Her views differ from those of Donald Trump, who has celebrated the overturning of Roe v. Wade and argued abortion legislation should be left up to the states.

“We spoke about it. And I said, you have to write what you believe. I’m not going to tell what you to do. You have to write what you believe,” Donald Trump told Fox News Channel’s Bill Melugin on Thursday.

“She’s very beloved. People love our former first lady, I can tell you that. But I said you have to stick with your heart. I’ve said that to everybody, you have to go with your heart,” he added.

You convinced me, Donald, that you go with your man part, and you don’t love Melania or her woman parts.

Interesting, Melanie and Trump opposite

Maybe Trump has calculated and found out that this would give the best chance for him being elected again. I still have trust issues when it comes to Presidents, Trump. Some easily lie, hence are not trustworthy

Personally I think women should have a final say in this. It's their body, hence their choice, period. And for many women it means excruciating pains, comparable to torture

Golden Rule applies therefore (don't do ...):
IF men agree to be tortured physically themselves for the pleasure of their wives THEN they can have a say, otherwise NOT

Most man would be unable to endure such pain, many faint when seeing blood. So, they have no say in it, as simple as that

I agree with you, although I think women who want abortions should do it quickly, if possible.

They do, for the most part. Abortions after 21 weeks (a bit more than halfway through 2nd trimester) account for just 1% of all abortions in the U.S., and are almost always medically necessary. This makes sense, because they are also much more expensive and dangerous to the woman.

Are you speaking specifically about Trumps presidency, his marriage, or America?

I almost wrote "United states" but had to exercise restraint and utilize the term "America" ... for obvious reasons.

We should seriously consider something important in the statement itself. It's a common phrase here in the commonwealth, but we have a long road ahead of us, and I'll assume it leads to more unified efforts between us all.

Beyond this, I have no comment, aside from:

"it's my ecosystem my choice", and I'll smoke cigarettes if I determine it to be what's best for me.

My parents were smokers, so ... It has never not been part of my ecosystem.

I would say it's more dangerous to the victims of abortion whose mothers are obviously still alive.
