A look at a bleak future

This was all over the news channels today. Coming from the UN, I guess there is at least some truth to the report.

IPCC steps up warning on climate tipping points in leaked draft report

Even if this report isn't 100% accurate - time will tell - it's enough to be scary. If I didn't have the hope of God's direct intervention at some point in the future, I would be freaking out after reading this.
I can still see the future in a positive way because of my beliefs, but I know a lot of people don't have that kind of hope. So what do you think? Are humans going to do the right thing and take all the necessary measures to avoid the announced catastrophe or not?
I say they won't because the good hearted human beings who want to help and are willing to make some sacrifices for the greater good are not powerful enough to beat the selfishness, greed and stupidity of all the others. Sorry, I'm not trying to be negative, just realistic.

I'm not too worried. I don't have the Abrahamic God to fall back on so much, but my worldview is that when we think we're a permanent species and super important, it's just an illusion and the Earth seems to go through cycles.

I do believe humans will ultimately shoot themselves in the foot and severely damage if not destroy our ability to survive in the long term. But I also don't think humans are cosmically special, any more than non-avian dinosaurs were. I care more about the inevitable suffering of the people who will have to struggle through the damages from their ancestors but I wouldn't mourn the loss of humanity from this universe.

I don't see a long term bleak outcome but short and intermediate term serious disruptions due to climate change.

What irks me the most because it means more unnecessary suffering is

One month ago the average temperature was 13 degrees or so.
Now it's 33 or more.
It is not normal, in my opinion that there is no gradual changing.
The lack of graduality makes me think of how greenhouse temperature works.
And if we have really turned into a big global greenhouse...our future is not bright.
