A note on terms used, in debate, etc

The point of this thread is to inform members here that many of the phrases and words, related to the various religions, are not necessarily known by other members. So explanations are sometimes needed as to what these /specific/ words or labels mean, as opposed to broad generalized terms and descriptions.

examples are welcome

Maybe the whole debate is definitions. The implications of the definitions are usually trivial.

For example, I might want to say "religious people are delusional". If I choose the definitions of "religious" and "delusional" then I win the debate. ;) So people debate about definitions often.

Creationism should always be defined specifically.

God should also be defined specifically, as there are many differing concepts identified as "God".

Why don't we start with "God?" Y'know ... just so we're all on the same page 'n stuff?
