I cannot find this story on the internet, and yet my wife and I both heard it on the news this morning.
It seems like a couple each managed to get a speeding fine in quick succession; £60 each.
In order not to have their driving licence showing the violations, the wife took a plane to Polad (£300) to send herself and her husband a postcard from a fictitious Polish guy, saying that he had driven the car wilst here on holiday; not realizing the speed limits, he was sorry if he had broken the law. Please let off my friends..........etc
Unfortunately for them , somehow the police became aware of the circumstances, and tried them for prjury, tryng to pervert the cause of justice. They were found jointly guilty and told to pay a fine of £9000. The husband, a chartered accountant, is now in danger of loosing his charter because of the blot on his reputation.
