having spent years depressed, and suffering from allsorts, I nearly cashed in my chips a month or so ago.

My wife and I went to see our grandson in Barcelona (to help our sun while Mum was away for a couple of weeks on business). I had been dieting, and was pleased with having got down to the weight I wanted to be; the trouble was, I was still losing, and didn't realise that I looked pretty groggy.

It turns out that I was going around like a zombie; I had no idea how ill I was.

Coming home, my wife held up my hand at passport control, and literally shoved me in the 'plane.

She called the doctor out when we were home; I had a blood pressure of 200 and some over something like 170, was severely anaemic, and had 10% kidney function from one kidney (the other is a prune shaped little guy who may have been so since birth - no one knows). One of the problems - an enlarged prostate (which apparently pushes everything else out of the way, the poor kidney being the little guy at the back.

Anti inflamatories and antidepressants all contributing to try and kill off my kidney!

I am now sitting at home, having enjoyed a Christmas lunch (I get very tired); the kidney function has gone up to 20%, my blood pressure is under control, but still no one can work out the anaemia - I rejected a transfusion in hospital when my Blood pressure went wild again. A little stent is keeping the blockage unblocked on the "out" of my working kidney, and as soon as I am OK, I go in for another "camera" action!

But, as the song goes," I'm here, I'm happy, and I'm singing this happy song!!!" I even did the washing up after lunch!!!!:p

happy Christmas everyone!!!!!!!!!!!!
