a question about Jesus

Hi

I've got a question. In most mythologies when a god and a woman has a child that child is seen by their followers as a demigod. Why do christians vehimantly oppose that view of Jesus?

Matth 1:18This is how the birth of Jesus Christ came about: His mother Mary was pledged to be married to Joseph, but before they came together, she was found to be with child through the Holy Spirit

Your analogy isn't very apt. Jesus was a historical figure. A better comparison would be to Augustus Caesar, who was also said to be born of god, and later deified.

Under the Christian understanding, Jesus is God. He is just another part of God. In essences, he is equal to God as he is God. That is where the Trinity comes into play. With that understanding, Jesus really can't fit the definition of a demigod.

More so, Jesus was, as Oberon explained very well, was an actual human figure.
