A question from a maltheist...

Yep, that's right, I'm a maltheist. Just in case you're wondering what it's supposed to mean, but not feeling like searching for it, here's what it means: that I believe that a god exist, but he's not a belevolent one. In my case, I believe in the same god you do. I just have a different view on God.

I'm just here because I already looked for other people with similar thoughts and just figured most of them gave the whole thing up or just began to see God as a good being. I'm not here to start a discussion, I'm just here interested in hearing if any of you guys have gone through this "phase" or know someone that did?

I don't go around screaming that "God is this, God is that, God is evil, yada yada", I just hold this belief within myself and talked about it with very few people about it. If you met me, you'd probably think that I'm a good servant of God and there's just no way you'd imagine I have this... "Hatred" towards him. That's probably because I'm a maltheist and not a misotheist(person that hates a god or many gods), but anyway, I'm not here to create any problems, really.

Interesting. I had often thought of maltheism as a hypothetical position and not one actually filled by believers. That being said, do you believe there is a Hell? Do you fear what God may do to you upon your death? Do you think He will simply annihilated your soul?

Yes, I believe in the existence of Hell. I just can't tell how it is because I've never been there. Sometimes I fear my punishment and yes, I think I'll have my soul annihilated. I don't feel like I have a choice on going to Heaven or Hell though.
