A river metaphor

Here's a metaphor for everyone. Tell me if this is not true.

*Ahem*

Religion is the rock,

Dauntless, steadfast and ages old.

Science is the water,

Shifting, changing, encompassing

and eroding the rock away

But one day, the water will go away, and the rock will continue on.

Besides, when the water erodes away the rock, it's actually taking small pieces of the rock with it. The rock itself never stops existing; it becomes part of the water.

So... no, I don't think it's a bad analogy. But I wonder if you took it as far as I have.

Then again, the religion I follow is much more fluid and open than organized religions.
