Most people are so closed minded when it comes to the Religion/Science matter that they can't even see straight. But I am one of the few people who have actualy stoped to take the time to think it over while putting aside my beliefs and disbeliefs.

I belive that God created the world in 7 days her time and not 7 Earth days. Keep in mind that to God time doesn't matter and that it does not exist to her! So to God 7 days can be how ever the H. E. double hocky sticks long she wants it to be! Also since God created the animals and since her time is not eqivelant to our time she must have made them evolve from one stage to the next. I am not a Theologian nor am I a Scientist I am an Alchemist which I define as one whom transmutes three paths into one. I am an Artist, Sceintist, and Theologian all rolled up in one big package and like all the great men before me I shall aspire to change the world. As for the saying "Men shouldn't play God." Well God "created man in his image", in his image we were created with freewill and with the ability to reason and create. Hence forth I say that the reason God created Science was so that men could make use of it and of their abilities to reason and invent.

Welcome to the forums. I am interested to know why you keep referring to God as "she" though, when the Bible always uses "He".

To put it simply I am a nonconformist who has his own set of beliefs. My religious belfiefs are vary complex and hard to understand for most people and it takes detailed explanations for me to get my points across.

I simply think of God as a divne femine darkness as opposed to a lighter more masculine tyrant god.

Yes, well, humanity as a whole needs one of those. Your thoughts are very inspiring, DD. Keep on keeping on, friend. :)

I've learned one thing from watching "American Idol" "So You Think You can Dance", and "America's Got Talent".

While you may think that thing I learned is that I have a horrid taste in TV, that's not it. It is that people who proclaim how great they are generally do the worst. An immutable truth.

I praise you for an honest attempt at softening the edges between religion and science, but I feel that your personal intrest to obtain an identity may conflict with putting aside assumption.

Or maybe he's really young. :)

In junior high, I thought that I was the first to come up with the idea that there's no such thing as altruism. In high school I thought that I was going to single-handedly reconcile Genesis and evolution for everyone.

btw DD, the whole seven days in God's time is not a new idea, nor is calling God "she." Nor is the idea that God wants us to use science. Cool that you thought of them tho. :)

In an effort to make what I knew to be true about science, such as that Dinosaur's existed mesh with what I was TOLD was true about religion, Young Earth, Biblical Literalist stuff, I came up with the hypothesis that God's day must have been about half a billion years for the math to all work out. I was convinced that there had to be some way for it all to work together as well.

But then I turned 14 and realized, with a lot of struggle over the years that the crap I had been taught every Sunday morning, Sunday night and Wednesday night (plus Vacation Bible School and Youth Camps in Summer) simply did not hold any water.

Nice Try Darth. And Lilithu, good to see somebody else came up with a similar idea, but that we both had sense enough to see through it eventually. I really don't know why people insist on lying to their kids.

What do we know of God's day? Perhaps it is one millionth of the earth day. Perhaps She did it in 7 milliseconds. That goes well with calculations of science, the big-bang. By seventh, everything was in place, galaxies, suns, earths, elephants, lions, tigers, pigeons and doves, spiders and cockroaches, Garden of Eden, Adam and Eve, and Satan. BTW, what was Her problem with Adam and Eve?

Perhaps atoms think very highly of themselves.
Maybe you’re right and the self righteousness of some atoms makes others have to be lower.....which is sort of very demanding, if you understand the concept of Namaste.....
So when the dance of time is interwoven with gravity, maybe she will just swallow it all up and we can start again….. Then removing the weight, like sand through a timer or a camel through the eye of a needle….

If you don't like the meaning of a sentence, simple change the meaning of the words. It's intellectually dishonest, but it makes up for this fact by being relatively easy ...
