A World So Small

Harry E. Fosdick, American clergyman and professor said, "I would rather live in a world where my life is surrounded by mystery than live in a world so small that my mind could comprehend it?"

And yet we try to comprehend everything. Would we be happier if we understood it all?

I'd argue no because we need that horizon to explore. If everything were easily explained then it would take all the flavor out of life.

I don't think that horizon will ever be reached. I don't know about the "happiness" but I sure would be bored.

It wouldn't make sense. A person knowing everything about everything.........if he did, he'd be able to rule the universe. And since that's never gonna happen, Bush can turn his sorry little head. :p

Sorry, I just really wish I could toss Bush into a bush. :p :p :p

Mystery is that key ingredient that gives life a wonderful, robust flavor....I would never want to live a life devoid of mystery.... ;)
