Abortion vs sterilization: which is preferable?

I mean....after watching this video on abortion, and how terrible it is to watch, I am starting to wonder that If I had the power I would make sterilization a free and available practice for all women who want to have a more tranquil sex life.

What do you guys think? If sterilization were affordable...wouldn't it better for a woman?
Also considering what happened to that woman in Georgia.
If she had been sterilized, she would have been alive, now.

Here is an article for some international perspective. Not the US of course, but India performs most of these procedures.

I know there are lots of sadists and even some Satanists who love to watch that stuff (some not all of them) but this carnage has to stop.

It's better that there is a healthcare system that makes sterilization available and affordable.
In my country it is very affordable, but I would want it to be completely free to push more and more women to do it.

...

I think what you feel is irrelevant to how a woman should choose to do her life as relevant for what she should prefer.

Now as for whether a medical service should be free, that is something else.

Here is an article for perspective.

If I were in charge in my country, I would make it advisable to all women who don't have a parental vocation.
Or in alternative, I would make contraceptives completely free for them.

I agree contraceptives should be heavily subsidized and easily accessible, but this would include increasing access to medical care IF you are intending to keep such medication to require a prescription, and not simply via a pharmacist.

Obviously.

No, I don't consider any of those as such preferable over the other 2. I leave that to the individual to decide.
And since it is not relevant to me, I don't prefer one over the other ones.
However, from a ethical point of view...you cannot deny that with sterilization, no living being dies.
With abortion, a living being dies.

Well, that is subjective in the end as you could also use the potential for new life and an actual baby being born as a standard. There is no single objective true standard for ethical questions and that includes this one.

Well...but if a woman decides not to become a parent...it's better she relies on sterilization, rather than relying on that risky procedure called abortion. Have you seen what happened to that woman in Georgia?

Being sterilized isn't a tragedy. The people who did it never repented...I can promise you that.

It's not always a preference. Many women who have abortions also want children.

It would be like starting a thread on reacting emotionally vs. realistically.

In many cases both are true.

Yeah, you argue based on a limited set of humans for which other humans choose differently. And that case is not really relevant as it is the result of limiting her choices.

Freedom is an absolute concept...of course.

For example a woman can say: "I want to be free to engage in wild kamasutra without protection and I want to be free to abort the child, in case I get pregnant".
All that matters is saying it out loud, without pretending to be Saint Maria Goretti. :)

I appreciate honesty.
