Accidentally released propaganda shows Putin’s reason for the invasion.

“An article by the propaganda publication RIA Novosti, which was to be published after the occupation of Ukraine, is preserved in the Web Archive. The Kremlin’s propaganda publication RIA-Novosti accidentally published an article that was to be published after the rapid occupation of Ukraine. It was quickly removed, but the Internet Archive web service managed to save it

It describes Putin’s imperial plans for the total Russification of Ukraine and Belarus and change of the world order.“

Brave new world of Putin: An article by the propaganda publication RIA Novosti, which was to be published after the occupation of Ukraine

This was probably written before the invasion even began, and was intended to be released after what Putin imagined would be a quick victory.

You can read the article for yourself and you will clearly see what the reasons for the Ukraine invasion were, and even more importantly what the reasons were not. There is no mention to nazis in Ukraine, nothing about drugs or corruption in the government, nothing about Ukraine trying to get nuclear weapons or any of the other bs Putin has been spewing.

This was about restoring Russia to what it was before. This was about Putin creating a legacy. He wants to go down in history as the man who restored Russia. And that is why people are dying now.

I have been saying that for years. Even back in RF archives.

I don't know if the article is true, but either way it's known that Putin stated that the worst single event of the 20th century was the collapse of the Soviet Union.

BTW, the irony is that Putin changed his affiliation to Marxism when he was the head of the KGB to that of fascism over the last two decades.

I'm not surprised by the position they're taking here. We knew (or should have known) that there would be eventual fallout from the breakup of the Soviet Union. While we in the West were gloating, doing our Cold War victory dance, and living high on the hog, Russian pensioners were foraging through garbage dumps for a bite to eat. Did anybody believe that could go on forever and that Russians should be happy about being crapped on by the West?

Please note that I'm not saying that this gives Russia the right to invade Ukraine, nor am I defending such action. But Russia does have a right to be angry at the shabby treatment they've received from the West after 1991. That they've turned towards malignant nationalism is foolishly tragic and unfortunate, but not surprising. In a sense, the West created Putin just like the West created Hitler.

Empires come and go.
What is the UK now compared to what it was 100 years ago?
I don't think many people in the UK want it to "be restored".

Putin wants to force his ideology onto people that don't want it.
I don't agree with Muslims who do that.
..and I don't agree with Putin.
