According to republicans, playing a video game renders one unfit for office.

Really, pray tell what will bring about this event? Standardized education?

Or some kind of apocalyptic slaughter of all believers?

Please.
You assume that children will carry on in the tradition of their parents. Ever heard of the preachers daughter syndrome?

The only hope Republicans have in the future is the children of Progressives turn Conservative just to defy their parents. )(

Nope, you're still wrong
Well, given the propensity to immerse children in the conservative ideas their parents cling to, to the point of altering school curriculum, history texts, and religious indoctrination of the very young, this solution is less likely than one would hope. The families that follow the current wigged-out Republican line will simply crank out more children like their parents; and people in liberal states will continue with a more reality-based education... and this stasis seems likely to be the norm.

You all will be rid of us soon enough. Give things another generation or so, that is unless some of you change your politics as you get older. ;)

I'm sure the republicans will evolve to survive, eventually distancing themselves from christian fundamentalists, out of touch kooks and other fringe elements.

We already have Log Cabin Republicans. Look at the former head of the Republican party or the last two Republican Secretaries of State. The primary had a woman and an African American and we ran a women for V.P. last election. Sure we are neanderthals but we are headed in the right direction.

If I was a Progressive, I would be much more worried about the TEA party than I would the fundies. We are serious about a balanced budget amendment and that means two things, less military and less entitlements.

There is nothing wrong with means testing. Millionaires would not get a social security check, they don't need it.

Grandma living in a big drafty mansion might have to move into an apartment too. :sad4:

The same for corporate welfare, we cannot afford it. :sorry1:

Actually, the log cabin republicans are not endorsing Romney. Out of all the republicans running, they were only able to find twenty to endorse. Total. Seems the GOP is losing diversity, not gaining it. And it's 2012, not 1962. If you still need to point out that there are women and black people in your party you're hardly on the cutting edge of social progress.
