Acim?

Hello,

I have a friend who is a devout student of A Course In Miracles. He sparked my interest enough through discussions we've had and even gave me a free copy of the third edition combined volume as a gift. I've been reading through the text off and on for the past few months and have tried going through some of the lessons.

At first, I was enthusiastic about it, but I've been around the block so to speak when it comes to getting attached to various religious doctrines and started feeling more skeptical as I went along. I appreciate that it's like a revamped Christianity with various dharmic and western aspects that seem to fit together well, but then it starts to seem more convoluted and polarizing in the later chapters.

I don't really know how to feel about it now, but I would appreciate hearing more opinions from different Christians. What have been your experiences regarding ACIM? Have you practiced or studied it? If so, for how long? Is it credible in any particular way or all ways? Why or why not? Are its teachings insightful and transformational in a positive direction? Does it represent a better or more complete understanding of the Christian gospel in any ways?

Thanks,

SD
