Formal inauguration of 49 th Jalsa Salana UK 2015 took place on Friday evening 21 august 2015. Hazrat Khalifatul Messiah V (may Allah be his Helper) hoisted the Ahmadiyya Muslim Flag. In Jalsa-s, the flag of host country is raised too so British flag was hoisted by the Ameer Jama'at Ahmadiyya UK. Hazrat Khalifatul Messiah V (a.t.) lead the silent prayer at this occasion.
After the recitation of Holy Quran verses 103 - 108, Surah Al-Imran, poems of Hazrat Messiah (on whom be peace) were read.
In his inaugural address Hazrat Khalifatul Messiah (may Allah be his Helper) said that Allah the Exalted has sent Hazrat Promised Messiah (a.s.) so that He may re-establish teaching of Islam and install Taqwa (righteousness) in hearts of the people; Taqwa is the base of belief and the sign of believer. There should not be mere acknowledgment by tongue but faith should be established in hearts, and there should be betterment in states of knowledge, faith and practice. Hazrat Promised Messiah (a.s.) said that Allah the Exalted found this era in darkness, sank in ignorance and Shirk, without faith, truth, Taqwa and truthfulness – thus sent me so that He may establish high morals, faith and truth. Earthly philosophy, naturalism and atheism, wanted to damage this Garden. Wrong additions are added in the religion. Allah wants to clean the true religion from these things.
When Jama'at inform the world about true teaching of Islam, people get surprised. Some has said if it is the true teaching which you are telling us then world will surely come back to religion which Ahmadiyya Jama'at is presenting.
Hazrat Promised Messiah (a.s.) came to establish Taqwa and to develop moral change. We have to understand it, and increase standards of Taqwa. If we do not pay attention to this we may get flowed with errors and fall in filth. Thus we must keep our morals correct so that we should save ourselves and guide others too.
Holy Quran teaches Taqwa (righteousness). Taqwa gives us energy to avoid committing evil and enables to do virtue. Taqwa is amulet for peace and is impenetrable fortress. The one who practice Taqwa escapes those evils, in which others get involved and destroyed.
In the light of verse 13 of Surah Al Hujurat, Hazrat Khalifatul Messiah V (a.t.) asked to leave common evils. First of these is bad-presumption which is developed when something is not understood or one thinks wrongly. This evil remains firm in hearts and leaves with lot of effort with prayers and help of Allah. This evil is developed due to non practice of Taqwa. It destroys homes and peace of society.
Bad-presumption leads to finding weaknesses of others and spying on them. Allah the Exalted has stopped form such spying and talking bad about other behind their back. The possessors of these evils do not realize about it and by these sins, feeling of other sin vanishes too.
One should not have habit of complaining. These things lead to belittle others and then slowly animosities begin.
Holy Quran has asked believers to avoid these evils and clean the society from these.
Hazrat Promised Messiah (on whom be peace) said that bad-presumption is very bad evil. It makes a friend an enemy. The cure is that when it begins, one should start to say Istighfar [seek forgiveness, cover and help from Allah], do prayer that may Allah save us from this evil and bad results of it.
Main reason of not accepting Promised Messiah (a.s.) is bad-presumption.
Eradicate bad-presumption from surrounding, back-biting, spying on others, and develop and spread mutual peace and love. End complaints and unpleasant feelings for others. Behave nicely with each other and always avoid bad-presumptions. It will remove all difficulties.
In the light of verse 11, Surat Al-Hujurat Huzur (a.t.) said that Holy Quran stresses to live with brotherly like love with each other in order to follow the way of Taqwa. Differences should be ended so that hatred and grouping should end in society. Progress of Jama'at depends on members thus each member should make effort to practice Taqwa and gain of pleasure of Allah. Nations face decline and dishonor when people have mutual hates. We should learn lesson from this. We should make passions of brotherhood, love, sacrifice and mercy common in society.
If we make our society like that we shall get opportunities to invite toward Allah. Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be on him) said the true obeyer is the one, from whose tongue and hand, everyone who has desire of peace, is safe.
To get mercy of Allah, have mercy on each other. Our correction and beauty of deeds will attract others’ attention.
Hazrat Khalifatul Messiah V (a.t.), in the light of verses 71 and 72 of Surah Al-Ahzab drew attention to the virtuous results of practicing Taqwa. He (a.t.) said that if faith and Taqwa is present , Allah the Exalted will forgive sins. The obedient one will attain success. Similarly, lie is disliked. Commandment is given for right talk and to avoid twisted talk. These verses are read on the occasion of Nikah (marriage). The purpose is to adopt Taqwa, truth and obedience of Allah and Messenger at the time of making matrimonial tie. If Taqwa is present, sin does not develop. If there is human weakness or mistake Allah the Exalted saves from their results. Allah give commandment to overlook others’ weaknesses. With good intention, we should keep watch at our deeds then there will be correction and Allah will forgive too and save from bad results.
Huzur (a.t.) asked to pray mentioned in verse 75, Surah Al-Furqan that may Allah grant us virtuous spouse and progeny and make us Imam of those who practice Taqwa. Imam also means role model; meaning may Allah make us such virtuous model that those follow our model may become those who practice Taqwa.
With respect to verse 111, Surah Al-Taubah, Huzur (a.t.) explained that Allah the Exalted has explained to fulfill trusts and promises, especially the Pledge of Bai'at. Thus rights of Allah will be fulfilled and by fulfilling promises made with people, rights of people will be fulfilled. The Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be on him) said that not fulfilling promise is the way of earthly and hypocrite. Muttaqi (the one who practice Taqwa) fulfills promise.
In this era, earthly people do not care about their pledges and enter complicated matters in these. Big powers usurp rights of small countries.
We should act on these commandments to pay rights of people.
Hazrat Khalifatul Messiah V (may Allah be his Helper) read a quotation from Hazrat Promised Messiah (on whom be peace) from ‘kishti-a-Nooh’ [Noah’s arch] in which Hazrat Promised Messiah (on whom be peace) asked Jama'at to spread Taoheed [Unity of Allah], not to call bad-names, to adopt gentleness and sympathy, to be peace maker, not to be arrogance, not to worship creation. And to finish all kind of darkness and create moral revolution in self.
After ending the address, Huzur (may Allah be his Helper) prayed that may Allah grant us true Taqwa, and enable Jama'at to be such a model which Hazrat Promised Messiah (on whom be peace) wanted it to be. Huzur (a.t.) prayed for the blessings of Jalsa and safety.
