Al Gore blames Obama's Performance on Altitude

Oh, Al Gore. I wonder if Obama was expecting to debate the platform Romney has actually been campaigning on for the past two weeks, rather than the new one he unveiled last night.

Romney is just going to unveil a new plan every debate night. Makes it much easier to defend.

That just made me facepalm myself in real life.

The problem more likely was that Obama's strategy was centered around Mittens putting his foot in his mouth all night like he has been for the past two months and the reported "zingers" he was supposedly practicing with his aides, and instead took the offensive and bullied the moderator and Obama...which Obama obviously wasn't prepared for juding by how he just let Romeny steamroll him all night.

Doesn't matter what Romney campaigns on this week, cause he can just flip-flop and change it again next week. Hard to debate someone on their supposed polices when you can't have anything stick to them.

This is very true.

I know, eh? I actually think the Republicans are making a serious tactical mistake putting all their eggs in the basket of voter stupidity. Whatever they gained by teaching Romney to convincingly emulate human behavior will be lost when voters try to figure out what he was actually saying, and ask themselves whether it makes any sense, and whether any of it is true. Cut taxes by 20% without cutting taxes at all? How can a person promise a radical alteration to tax policy in the same breath as he vows that it will never result in any gain or loss of revenue? What planet is he on?

Actually he should have been used to it, he has let Nancy Pelosi and the insurance industry steamroll him from day one.

Rick, you and I have a very different recollection of the whole health insurance issue.

Obama wanted a public option or something very close to it, and the Cons and a some "Blue Dogs" (a few of the coincidentally former employees of the Health Insurance Industry) crucified him because they claimed that "poor private insurers" couldn't compete with a government run program and they would go out of business. So Obama and the Dems, trying to be bipartisan, drafted the healthcare legislation that we have now, using a good number Republican ideas that made up the structure for it, and which those same Republicans approved of at the time. Now of course most of them will throw Obama under a bus tell you what an "abomination" it is.

If anything, Obama has a history of letting Republicans steamroll him.
