Algerian secret services warned France of an imminent attack 24 hours before the Paris atrocity, it was claimed last night.

Officials told their French counterparts that a ‘major terrorist operation was in preparation on French territory’ on January 6, according to TV station iTele.

The claim is particularly interesting because the Kouachi brothers behind the massacre at the Charlie Hebdo offices were French nationals of Algerian descent.

They were radicalised by the Buttes-Chaumont jihadist recruitment cell, primarily made up of Franco-Algerians.

That's admirable. I've never doubted that the Algerian government has always been on France's side.
By the way, Algeria and Tunisia are two beautiful countries with great potentialities.
after the decolonization, they were doing a great job in creating a secular and liberal state. But it's the Islamic parties which sowed the hatred towards the French secular and democratic values.

The Islamists hate France and its values....that is a fact.
they melt culture, language (Arabic) and religion into a same ideology. This is worrying and disappointing.

I am sorry to say it, but Islamists have destroyed the dream of a united Mediterranean Sea.

The attack was going to happen anyway. The only thing the French could have done was increase their security if they had decided the intel was trustworthy. It seems that they took a gamble by not trusting the intel and it did not pay off.
Perhaps the Kouachi brothers were on a watchlist, as it were. However, you cannot, unless one is America, simply throw people into prison because they seem suspicious.
If one's country is afraid of some people (perhaps Algerian Muslims at this time--which the Kouachi brothers were), are you going to start profiling and detaining these people out of fear to then justify it with a false sense of security or would you allow human rights to prevail?

Also, I have not seen this published in other news sources and you quote the Daily Mail so...

It might be speculation but it's obvious that the Algerian Islamist party has always said that the French model is their enemy. They have never hidden their hatred towards all that is French and secular in Algeria.

And this asks the question: does this actually have anything to do with the Algerian Secret Service? The DPR will do whatever the National Liberation Front says. The NLF is a so called "Sunni" Islamic party, but as we know, the DPR engages in unlawful arrests, torture, and detention. This goes against "Sunni" Islamist values.
I am 95% sure that is was a whistleblower.

If we talk about the French inner politics, these Algerian brothers did a big favor to the FN and to Marine Le Pen. You can't even imagine how many people will be following her, after these facts.

I'm wondering, if the 2 brothers were known to the french government and to the Algerian government as well then how they can do the assault in such an easy way.

Is it hard to (at least) monitor their movements if in a case that they can't arrest them prior to the assault.
