Alien v Predator 2

I saw this movie last night and loved it! I wish that I had seen it in the theater. :sad4:

It was everything that an alien movie could ever hope to be, and I love how the Predator is not the snuggly teddy-bear that he was in the first A v P. The tie at the end, with the Alien and the Predator both killing eachother at the same time was only moderately lame.

I like how it was true to the Alien saga, but I wish that they had placed more emphasis on the heroine rather than spreading out the fighting to all those young guys.

Anyway, I liked how the one fear of the entire Alien saga was realized: the Alien was let loose on a human town (but the alien had devastated a space station and colony in other movies).

Man I hope they make more.:D

No worries about camera angle here.

I really didn't care for the first AVP - It wasn't anywhere near as awesome as it needed to be. Are you saying this one is better?

IMHO, it is much better.

The film does abandon the traditional Alien and Predator single-story motif for the traditional horror flick. That is, we get multiple short stories of how people in the town interact with the Alien//Predator rather than a single story line that is characteristic of both franchises.

I hope that makes sense.

Anyway, I think that people were disappointed with this when the movie came out. I thought that it was a refreshing twist.

It would be great if the writers / directors of Alien and Predator could collaborate a bit better on some more movies, perhaps with the setting in space or another planet. A movie about Predators in a hive would be very cool.

I don't know...I'm much more of a Predator fan than an alien fan. One of my disappointments with the first AvP was the depiction of the Predator, which was more sci-fiish than the original movies. I prefer the more primal feel of the old Predator.

I agree with Phasmid; the action scenes are too jerky and incomprehensible. I have yet to see AvP 2, but I found this an annoyance in the first.

I'd like to see some more Predator movies in historical settings. For instance, the story behind the flintlock pistol the Predator gave to Danny Glover in the second one. Predator versus Pirates, anyone? Vikings? Samurai?

 This line of thought is turning me on...

HA! The Predator could also have earlier Predator weapons... :slap: so we get different weapons and setting for both species! Rock on!
